11.10 Greyville - Going with 3 outsiders in the South African opener -

SUVRETTA ROCK ( Shockingly bad on too many occasions, but best career effort came over this c & d, can feature at 33's, but obviously risky )
AMBERCROMBIE ( Lightly raced, drawn well and every chance on penultimate run )
ADJUDICATOR ( Better last 2, remains lightly raced and has a top young claimer aboard. Fair EW chance at 14's )
 
11.50 Greyville - SCOTCH BRIAR - Not given the best ride last time when racing wide and not surprised the trainer has gone back to Sherman Brown, who partnered the gelding to a career best effort three runs back. Unproven on the surface aswell, so certainly more questions than answers, but do feel it is worth taking the risk at 40's.
 
5.00 Newcastle - Spirit of the Vale.

Guy at work has heard this should go very close today and at 9/4 you would bloody well hope so.

OK start with Adjudicator winning the first and a big priced 2nd for Scotch Briar.

12.25 Greyville - FRIEND REQUEST - Blinkers left off, down to his last winning mark and upset potential at 14's.

1.00 Greyville - MIESQUES MAGIC - Savanah Cat, probably forced into going for it form the widest draw and more than enough pace about to set it up for a finisher. Always tough in South Africa coming out of the maidens, but MM looked good last 2 starts and opening mark does not look harsh, so ultimately happy risking the 14's.

1.35 Greyville - SOUNDS POSITIVE and KARATAGE - Both hold fair form and both handle the surface. Pair of decent form chances at 8's.

2.10 Greyville - ACADEMY PRINCESS - Showed some improvement latest and looks dangerous off bottom weight with a top young claimer booked. Plum draw and looks about right at 8's.

2.40 Greyville - MOJO KING - Nicely bred sort who showed enough promise on debut. Should improve for that and 6's in this field looks fair.
 
12.45 Happy Valley - DUTCH WINDMILL - Won 2 of last 6 ( both over 1f shorter ) but does have form this trip and certainly not the worst 25/1 shot ever.
 
Bit of a gutting 3rd for Friend Request in the 12.25. Jason Weaver is in the ATR studio and he put it down to bad luck. Not convinced by that, but of couse am talking through my wallet.
 
1.00 Greyville - Ummed and ahhed a bit over KEPT SECRET ( 9/2 ) and ultimately decided to add it to Mieqsues Magic.
 
5.00 Newcastle - MAZAAHER and IN FOCUS - Full respect to Kegs pick, but can give all thr front 4 leading chances and would rather go with this pair of EW shots.
 
Well done with Mazaaher Samoan 20/1 winner beating mine into 2nd. Thought the young lad on the fav gave it a little too much to do but fair play to the winner.

Cheers Kegs. Some garbage along the way, but wins at 9/2, 14's and 20's, along with a 2nd at 40's and a 3rd at 14's, made for a decent day.
