Hong Kong and South African action both live on ATTHE RACES this lunchtime -

11.15 Happy Valley - LA PAGASE and MY FOLKS - LP good last twice and whilst MF is a 23 race maiden, is just too well h'capped to ignore. Pair of decent chances at 5's and 12's respectively.

11.40 Greyville - Fancied trio are 2/1, 5/2 and 3/1 and whilst it should work out this way at the weights, absolutely no value in it. Instead going with 3, 2 of which are at big prices -

TURF CONQUERER ( In good form and must be considered as looks the one most likely to run his race at 7's )
ROMAN ( First start a bit of a disaster and back off a 45 week break today. Bred to be OK however and immediately switched trainers, so happy going in at 50's, especially with a top claimer booked )
AWESOME ANGEL ONE ( Much better last time and whilst has it all to do at the weights, could sneak in there at 33's )

12.20 Greyville - HOKANUI - Fancied a number of these, so to be fair this one is simply a price thing at 10's, as was expecting 6's or 7's.

12.55 Greyville - THE MATADOR and MARIS STELLA - Blinkers added for TM and makes stable debut today. Better than last two starts suggest and hopefully the trainer can get him back to form at 7's. MS was not disgraced on debut after a slow start and is certainly bred to do better and could easily improve a long way at 12's. WILD ENCOUNTER and MARISCHINO CHERRY are both currently 80's and a big run from one / both would not shock me, so added both EW an all 12 different forecast options.

1.30 Greyville - CRYSTAL BALL and SCOTCH BRIAR - CB has been in good form lately and the h'capper continues to give her a chance at 7's. SB had an Improved last run and remains on a nice mark. Could be the " Dark Horse " at 20's

2.05 Greyville - SHIRLEY VALENTINE - Not my price and has her share of weight, but still think she wins at 3's

2.40 Greyville - MAJESTIC SOUND - Lightly raced and a couple of 7 career efforts give him a squeak. Has not had much luck either, but still a real risk. Can't have any of the others at the prices however, so would rather take a massive punt with this one at 80's

12.15 Happy Valley - STARLOT - Still a maiden and recent efforts don't exactly inspire. Does generally take a few runs to warm up however, so should strip fit today and not sure this one should be available at 40's

12.45 Happy Valley - FOREVER POSH - Fair efforts last twice and arguably better this trip. Solid looking EW at 14's

This does not hurt either

1st Starlot 12 M L Yeung 40/1
2nd Leisured Feet 1 B Prebble 9/2
3rd Formula Galore 5 N Rawiller 4/1

FOREVER POSH an annoying 4th in a typical Happy Valley bunch finish. On to the next -

1.15 Happy Valley - GAMECHANGERS - Looked a useful sort in the making last year, but done nothing in 2 runs this year for his new stable. Hopefully been freshened up by the 140 day break and hopefully can resume progress.

1.40 Nottingham - QAWAMEES - Nicely bred newcomer at 20's.

2.35 Chepstow - PONTRASINA - Won five-runner maiden Point on debut in April and bought for 40,000GBP afterwards. Interesting recruit to hurdling at 25's as certainly bred for the job

3.55 Nottingham - MARAAKIB - Runner-up 3 times recently and whilst 7th latest, enough to suggest he's holding his good form. Early 12's has gone and currently 9's

4.15 Chepstow - GOOD BOY BOBBY and TELSON BARLEY - Might just be a decent contest for the grade, but going with these 2 on breeding at 8's and 66's respectively.

7.55 Dundalk - PLAY IT COOL - Another newcomer on the day, this time at 8's.

GAMECHANGERS 2nd at 28's in the 1.15. Sticking with Hong Kong for this one -

1.45 Happy Valley - ACCLAIMED LIGHT - Won twice last season in class 4 company and has shown enough in this higher grade to suggest that he can also win at this higher level. Middle draw not ideal, but still should be thereabouts at 9's

4 for tonight. Bit rushed, so apologies for the lack of detail -

7.40 Kempton - SEINFELD - Poor, when supported on h'cap debut. Hopefully capable of better at 12's

8.10 Kempton - WARBA - Not yet fully exposed and 3 of his 7 runs to date make him a leading player at 7's. Could do with a shade more consistency, but the ability is there.

8.25 Dundalk - BERT LEAF - Return to a sound surface will help and form of Bellewstown win reads well. Shade big maybe at 20's.

8.55 Dundalk - LIZARD POINT - Just the 2nd try on the Poly and holds enough form to go close at 12's

Tailed off a bit at the end. PLAY IT COOL and WARBA were close up 3rd's and LIZARD POINT was a disappointing 4th. Not giving up on BERT LEAF as pretty much has to be ridden better next time.
