It's not that hard to see mate. The problem has never been the players (or the managers for that matter). Less talented squads than ours have won the Euroes - far less talented. It's not about talent or tactics, the problem is the press and us, the fans. I know it's become a cliche but the majority of the country really do think that we should be winning things just because we're England. True the realisation is catching on with people who actually think but there are plenty who are incapable of thinking and they, along with the press make the pressure on the players absolutely impossible.
What I want to see happen (and this WOULD make a difference) is for the English people (through social media, radio phone ins and letters to the newspapers) to turn against the negativity of the press and shout them down. I'll guarantee you now that next April/May time the papers will be running negative stories about England players before a ball is kicked. The cunts have the stories filed away now ready to run before the World Cup. The turning point will be when the people say enough is enough. The press are spineless cunts who think they are giving the fans what they want. If we let them know that we don't want this shit, they will change and that will be the first step to big change.
I can't remember who we played not long ago but they were shit and we were expected to beat them (which we did, convincingly in the end). I don't normally watch pointless qualifiers but I was in a pub when this was on and I couldn't believe that the fans were booing the team at half time because it was nil-nil.
I'm telling you, some of them are brain-dead. And it's not a small minority. We need the generation who have grown up only knowing a shit England team to become the vast majority before that attitude changes.
