Ignoring the mundane FA Cup, I've taken a couple of picks amid the glamour of God's Own League.

Southend 4/5 v Port Vale, general
A slightly risky one as Southend are amid a slight wobble - one win in six. However, Port Vale are in a bit of a mess, with finances meaning all their loanees - including four goals in five Guy Madjo (in fairness most of them against Aldershot  )- being sent back to their host clubs. They're without their 'keeper (injured) and several others are either out or doubtful. it could be a very threadbare Port Vale side, who have lost two in a row and have no wins against sides in the top nine.

Oxford DNB 4/5 at Aldershot, general
Oxford have only conceded once in five games, and that against leaders Crawley. Aldershot are decent at the back - although we might be a little makeshift at centre back tomorrow - but have scored only twice, and have four points, from seven games. Clearly we're going to struggle up front, particulatly if Rankine and Hylton are both unfit and I suspect Oxford will have too much for us, but I do want to take account of a low scoring draw.

Good luck TC.
With just under half the season to go i'm expecting Oxford to finish the season strongly, only a hunch. I've just backed them to win the league @ 40/1. Only a couple of quid e.w, 1/3 odds, 2 places.

That might be a good shout. I agree Oxford will improve and I'm looking at the 3/1 for promotion which'll at least be fair assuming they hit the playoffs - but with teams above wobbling they might be an outside chance for the top two.

80% profit :dance

On the downside, sod Punter's 40/1 on Oxford for the league - the 20/1 or so for us to go down might be a decent shout on our current form :cry

well done TC.I wouldve been tempted by Southend at the odds after your great write-up but couldnt bet on em cos I have them in quite a few antepost bets to be promoted.
I have been a bit dismayed by their recent results and am very glad to get this win so I can carry on hedging the fuck out of em!!:)

Nice one TC clap

I've had a mare of a day, horses and football :shit
