I don't believe Liverpool would sell Luis Suarez to a team that could rival Liverpool to that 4th CL place this season.
Obviously being a red, I could be being optimistic that Liverpool will get anywhere near that 4th spot, but assuming that Utd, City and Chelsea will finish in the top three, the Redmen will be making that 4th spot their target, along with Arsenal and Spurs.
I really cant see anything less than a £60M bid being enough for him to be sold to either of those clubs. I'd be amazed should he go for anything less, with what's at stake.

He's definitely a gonner though. I've covered a couple of teams with small bets but the standout out price for me and the team I have the most on is Atletico Madrid @ 50/1

They have Champions League football this season, they have a South American in charge and they have just received around £50M from the Falcao transfer.
I'm also wondering if negotiations may have already started, with Liverpool putting that bid in for their striker Diago Costa for a fee of around £21M.

I just think that Atletico are way to big a price here @ 50/1 (Skybet) and I've just talked myself to going back in for a little bit more.

They shouldn't be selling to a rival Punt but with so little options about and Suarez forcing Liverpool's hand they could be left with little choice if they want to earn the most money from the deal.

Suarez doesn't like the UK or it's press, it will be a team abroad.

Atletico 66/1 @ William Hills, I've had some of that too.

Suarez is a dirty little greedy coniving bastard Punt, he'll go to the club who lines his pocket's most believe me.

Did he play in tonights Friendly Punt?

No, trained on his own today. Refused to travel to Norway for tonight's friendly.

At least Liverpool fans are now seeing the Suarez the rest of us have been seeing for the last couple of yrs, He's like Tevez on Speed.

I can forgive him if he joins Atletico.

Otherwise he's a dirty little greedy conniving goofy ballbag racist diving cheating money grabbing fuck face hoaring shit stabbing ass wipe not bad footballer.

You missed 'Cnut' out but I think I and others will get the jist of what you're trying to say.

The ECHO understands that Liverpool's owners remain absolutely adamant that Suarez will not be sold to the Gunners, regardless of whether they increase their offer over the coming weeks.

Another link between Liverpool and Atletico, that makes me a little suspicious that the clubs might be talking.

8th May - Diego Simeone on Suarez

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has intensified speculation that his club will make a bid to prise Luis Suarez away from Liverpool in the summer by admitting he is a big fan of the striker.
Los Colchoneros are expected to have a huge war-chest to strengthen their return to the Champions League made possible by selling star Radamel Falcao to one of his rich European suitors.
After Suarez's latest controversy, as he bit Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, Atletico have been linked with a move for the Uruguayan and could make their interest concrete if the coach has his way.

"I cannot speak badly about Luis Suarez, he is extraordinary," Simeone told a press conference.
"But we have a game coming up that means we have to leave other matters aside."

Simeone was asked about other potential summer targets and spoke candidly about his admiration for River Plate's Augusto Fernandez, who he coached at the club in 2008
"He's grown an enormous amount; as a young player he performed well and he's one of the key players alongside Iago Aspas," he added.

Possibly coincidence but 4 weeks later Iago Aspas signs for Liverpool.

So where is he going then?

According to John Henry, he's staying.
“We are not going to sell Luis,” said Henry.

“I’m unequivocal we won’t sell to Arsenal, whatever the bid is. We have not been in the Champions League for a while. Obviously, to sell to a rival for those positions, or one of them, would be ludicrous. He won’t be sold even if a foreign club comes in because we do not have time to sign a suitable replacement.”

My thoughts on what might happen are narrowed down to four.

Liverpool, 10/11 Betfred
More likely this, than being sold to Arsenal anyway. To sell to the gunners now the owners would probably have to sell the club too because they know all Liverpool fans would turn on them. There is a possibility he will stay and I can understand the bookies making this their favourite.

Real Madrid 6/1 Hills
I'm not so sure the Bale transfer will go through. It's a lot of money that Real don't seem to have and there have been reports of player unrest about it too. A late £45M bid for Suarez instead wouldn't surprise me.

Bayern Munich 20/1 Skybet
With Suarez agent being Pep Guardiola's brother and Bayern's stature as a European giant (and having the spending power) it's impossible to rule out. I already got on @ 25/1 anyway.

Atletico Madrid 66/1 Hills
This is a ridiculous price, I make it more of a 7 or 8/1 chance. For all the reasons I've mentioned above and a couple of more points since. The bit I've highlighted in Henry's quote, not enough time to sign a suitable replacement, rubbish, there's 3 weeks left yet. Obviously we are unlikely to find anyone of the goofy twats quality but we have made it clear we are interested in Atletico's Diago Costa. There could be a deal done there with him + cash and I cant help but feel that Henry was dropping a hint there.
Either way it's a huge price for a club that has just received over £50M for their main striker and look set to receive a further £16M for Turkish winger Arda Turan if reports are to be believed (another player Liverpool have been linked with this summer btw). Surely Atletico are going to swoop in late for someone if they have any ambition in this seasons CL.

I don't have a great strike rate in these types of markets and I don't care if I get another one wrong here, but sometimes you get something in your head that says fuck it, go for it, it's too big, and that's what I've done here.
