Odds William Hill

For the big game, I've had five units on Aldershot at the 21/20 in some places. We've got six wins on the trot at home, although the exceptionaly promising Sonny Bradly returned to parent club Hull a couple of weeks ago, where he's since played in the Chapmionship. However, apart from another loanee disappearing we're at full strength, and I hope we'll have the momentum to come out on top against a side with four defeats out of five - Vale's exception being a win against bottom club Hereford. :crossfingers

I'll be there, along with son and son's girlfriend, who's making her Aldershot watching debut.

I've also had three units on Crewe/draw at Hills' 13/10. There are signs that Crawley are beginning to come out of their slump, especilally since signing Alexander, but I think they are much too short here. They'll be missing three important players suspended following their brawl at Bradford. Crawley are undefeated in eight, but (nearly) full strength Crewe haven't lost in nine and at this price I'm happy to take a chance that they can come away with something.

Nice one TC, i penciled in 7 picks last night, two came from this league, Aldershot and Swindon. For the same reasons as you with Aldershot, good form v poor form, at home you'd expect 8/11 - 4/6 in any other league with the same stats so Evs is a good price. My only concern is the winning home form has to come to an end at somepoint and your sons girlfriend could be bad voodoo, i'll be blaming her if you dont beat Vale, 'Shots are in my Combo bet.

Good Luck

Im Laying Southend @ 2.64 [Betfair]

As think Bradford will score and Southend are not very consistent recently

Thanks Punter; I always worry about betting on our games 'cos I'm worried I'm not able to be objective so it's reassuring to have someone else spot it. I'd have had us at nearer the price you gave.

Managed a unit's loss with Crewe managing a draw.

Aldershot were awful. So were Port Vale, in a game of effort but zero skill. A bore draw :sleep would have been right, which would still have lost the bet.

Southend to bounce back? I think 1.80 @ BetVictor is big enough to take, Ladbrokes are going 1.62

Wimbledon seem to keep losing away by the odd goal, Southend in the play offs and still a chance of automatic promotion, Eastwood back at the club too.

Good luck with Southend :crossfingers

I'm taking unders at Crewe, as I think Vic C's evens is a touch generous. Crewe's rise into play-off contention has been due to tightening their defence and being a bit less adventurous - only two of their last twelve have gone over.

The same can be said of Rovers since Mark McGhee took over - ten of fifteen would have hit this, and they've been particulrly tight away from home.

I'd have unders at about 4/5, not the around evens bookies are offering. I assume that this has been priced on two factors - overall stats for the season, and Crewe's league position - there's a chance if scores are going against them they might have to go for broke late in the game, but even with this risk I'm happy to take evens.

everybody seems to be playing everybody else of the teams I tend to fancy lately, but I've had a little bit of Rotherham against Cheltenham

After seeing team news, I've got on Torquay DNB at Sky's 11/10. Oxford have Duberry and Leven missing - both important first teamers. Torquay's walking wounded - particularly Howe, who I wanted to start - have made the pitch despite carrying knocks. Torquay have only one defeat in nine (at champions-elect Swindon) while Oxford can stutter at home althoguh in fairness they've picked up in front of their own fans recently, but have two defeats on the bounce. I think form favours the visitors.

You might be right - half time stats point to Rotherham being well on top, and I've taken them DNB at 4/7.

Three units loss, with Rotherham coning off, torquay beiong void and Crewe, sadly, getting off to a flier.

Everyone else did better than me. Well done.
