:thinking is it just me or is there nothing here this week? I assume we'll lose at Swindon, but Swindon have shortened a bit too much for me, although I'll look at a handicap which sadly might give some value :cry.

Daghenham are on the up and have been tipped(by the rfo from memory) to win at Accrington but cant remember at what odds.
Anyway, iit was a much improved performance v Southend but I really have no idea how much their cup game will affect them.
Perhaps the 1-1 might be value.
Also, since you ask,a bit surprised to see Burton not odds-on so maybe Burton with a 1-1 saver.

I can probably give you Burton :thumb

Agree on Daggers, and particularly on their cup tie - the extra time might have an impact. However, it's plausible that Bradford will be in the bottom two come 5pm, so I'm going to grab them at 6/1 for relegation. It does seem that relegation odds in L2 are based on current position and reputation/size rather than the chances of going down - Barnet have gone from 6/4 to 11/4 in only a couple of weeks, and Plymouth can start signing players again and have put together the odd result, but have shortened :eek

Yes,to a large extent the odds simply reflect the positions due,one assumes to many people doiing accas involving the bottom club(s) so I would also consider Bradford. But I seem to remember reading(in the rfo)that they will/should improve.
I dont tend to get involved in relegation nowadays and only did Dagenham cos,not only did they have a striker shortage, but also had a long run of hard games.
Was hoping Plymouth wouldve done better by now...

As I suggested Plymouth at 10/1 on TDP before the season started I'm not hoping they would've done better :crossfingers (standard disclaimer that as I followed a club that went bust I don't like to see any club in a mess, etc, etc) I got on Dagenham about the same time as you, so I see taking Bradford as a bit of cover.

yeah,I seem to recall that,TC-well done and I understand-what about Northampton though...as theyre playing Plymouth(the rfo tipped Plymouth)

I saw (some of) the Plymouth game on the box midweek. It's the first time I've seen them in anything but highlights, and I was staggered at just how dire they were - a class below Aldershot, and we're no world beaters. However, Northampton are going through a grim spell and I can't bring myself to back them either. Northampton have a decent side on paper at least so once their manager situation is sorted I think they'll be okay. (Northampton are one of only two sides in the bottom six I've not taken for relegation at some stage, for that reason. The other are Barnet, who never seem to be long enough until maybe now - but if they lose McLeod through injury or during the January window...)

I'm quite pleased with the Plymouth tip, but that's balanced by my other relegation suggestion of Cheltenham :duh

cheltenham must be the surprise of the season so nothing to be ashamed about.
I usually dont do any bets on lge 2 til January cos of things like that but,of course,Crawley demanded backing from the off.
Anyway, its Cheltenham v Southend after the cup games and that will be an important game/result

Managed to find an angle on the big game :unsure that I like - Swindon minus 1 at 7/4 (general). Swindon have finally got it together after a shaky start; after assembling a big squad Di Canio finally seems to know which his best side is, and seven of their eighteen league games have resulted in a two goal or better margin. They have stuttered a little by being held at home by Bradford and Hereford recently, but in the same perios have also marked impressive wins against Gillingham and Huddersfield.

The stats show the Shots as having a decent away record, but to be honest six of our nine have been at sides in the bottom eight. We've yet to win away at sides in the top half, and have tended to be comfortably beaten.

Betting Zone are backing us to get something, but I'm going the other way and I fear a rout; my price for -1 would be very marginally shorter than 7/4. I'll declare and interest - I live in Swindon and expect banter at work if we get hammered, so this bet is partly for some consolation if things go pear shaped!

Good luck fellas, i agree with this weeks calls.
I'd just add Shrewsbury in here, a top of the table clash with Morecambe i was surprised to see them available at Evens.
I'm on a bit of a gambling break till mid December though so no bets this weekend. Good shout with the Hereford scorer last week TC :thumb

Alrite lads. Thinking about kicking off a wee plan. Perfect for Glory Hole Page. Although i'll need a winning bet to start of course. Looking at 3pm games tomorrow its looking choice between Chelsea, Celtic and Southend. First instinct is the Southend v Bristol Rovers game based on form etc. Prob not even back Southend, just intend to Lay Rovers. However League 2 def not my forte. Looking at stats etc, Southend look great at 1.72 on Betdaq but im happy to lay visitors. However to ease my mind, any yous lads any info on game that stats don't show?

I can't find any reason to put you off, and a very quick look at team news also seems to favour Southend. I'm not convinced 4/6 is value despite the difference in form, but agree Southend are rightly favourites.

On paper I think Bristol have a strong side and I originally had them for promotion, but results haven't reflected that and I can't see why that should change tomorrow.
