I've never really followed this market before but looked at it now on betfair out of curiosity.

I think Aston Villa could be in for a better season than most people think at this moment. Villa have underachieved in the last two seasons but the appointment of Paul Lambert could finally get them going again. The signings preseason have been low key but could be just what they need to kick start them.(Ironically Holmen could be the strongest and he was signed by Mcleish)

I am guessing at the moment that the winners will get 90 points so Villa at -34 will need 57 or more to win. Lambert got 47 with Norwich last year and has a far stronger group of players to work with this year ( he would not have left Norwich had he not thought so)

So can Villa cover the handicap. An optimistic 5 points from me at 20.00 on betfair

Your very optimistic Colbro if you think Villa will get 57 points and low key signings are not what you need coming off the back end of a very poor season.
Villa need some optimism that would have come with a couple of decent signings to show Villa are at least trying to address the problem they have and If I was a Villa fan i wouldn't be overly optimistic by the appointment of Lambert either.

Personally I hope Villa do well this season but I have a feeling they will be fighting relegation for most of it.
