I aint up to speed yet but ive had a few winning weekends in a row this season so far with Stenhousemuir beating Airdrie the twice. Not backed anything else. Could all change this weekend though.

Alloa at 2/1+ interests me. They where solid enough at he back last seasona nd just missed a bit of firepower. With them getting Spence (from saturdays opponetns Raith) and some others Buchanan and co i think they'll do ok this season. They where the better team first half v an admittedly depelted Queen of the South team last week even though they went 2 down at the break. Im taking them to bounce back v a Raith side who i dont think are all that especially at the moment. Maybe a good time for Alloa to play them and im taking them to win.

Also if your a Mcbookie account holder i fancy Spence to score first/last @ 13/2 and anytime 2/1

Livingston im waiting on for 4 trebles after a midweek bet and i quite like them at shades of odds on. I wouldnt take them at 8/11 but 4/5 seems fair to me. I dont even know if star an scougal is still there so its nothing more than a tenious pick. Suppose i wouldnt put anyone off Livi if they hve info that makes them think theyre gonna win too.

Divison One i dont fancy anything.

I took Annan at 8/11 earlier in the week but i dont now if id be that kean on the 3/4 thats now being offered.

John Gemmell to be LAST goalscorer im backing every week and ive got him a 5/1. He'll probably start but he's been known to be a bit of a super sub in his old age. Worth a goal when he comes on and his fighting spirit is a big bonus.

bah the 3/1 on Berwick is away. East Fife are murder imo. I usually steer clear of backing berwick but ill take that 11/4 paddy power if i can. maybe ht/ft the lot.

Ill probably be bck in before saturday as i get a giro from now till then and shops sell special brew and special brew makes me social. gl whatever your on though.

Managed to catch up a bit with League 2 and i dont fancy Annan quite as much as i did and couldnt advise them at odds on. Just looking at their terrible pre season and results in the cups this season and it would be hard to be confident in them. Queens Park have gone for experience this year with the avg age being about 28 and mostly ex Junior players with a bit of mettle about them. I wont be backing for or against them for a wee while till i read more about them. that said i havent actually looked at their performance on saturday yet. Games involving clyde just bore me.

Ill take my ante post selection Albion Rovers at 2/1+ this weekend. Arbroath seem far from being the finished article whilst albion Rovers have the luxury of having 3 or 4 of their better players sitting on the bench.

Berwick i will be on but it will be the same old 'all the possoession and chances only to lose' which has blighted them for the past few seasons. I reckon ill have a job before East Fife score a goal again :eek

Decent enough Dumbarton blog here which seems to have the same sort of thoughts as me about alloa and Raith this season-

on Alloa....

Key players: Greig Spence has returned to the club where his career began before his big-time move to Celtic, which ultimately didn’t work out. He has been joined in the striking ranks by experienced strikers Liam Buchanan and David Weatherston, while Kevin Cawley scored past Sons twice last season. John Gibson is expected to replace Dundee-bound Scott Bain in goal while ex-Dumbarton captain Ben Gordon is signed on again at the Wasps.

Analysis: Alloa should score more goals than they did last season, with the experience they have in their forward line. However, there will still be question marks over their ability to keep them out, with Bain having departed for Dundee. After last season’s dramatic finish, which saw the Wasps avoid the play-off on the last day, they’ll be glad to stay up again. They may need a play-off to do that, but having won the play-offs two minutes ago, they’d have no fears if it came to that.

and Raith....

Analysis: Going by the sounds coming from Kirkcaldy so far, it is hard to credit that Raith were Challenge Cup winners only four months ago. Concerns are being expressed by Raith fans about the strength of the squad and the prospects for the coming season. The players are there to suggest that Raith could be banana-skin opposition for the title chasers, especially with Conroy and Nade moving from Dundee. However, it could be a tough season which sees them at the wrong end of the table.

Plastic pitch to consider too.

looking at oddschecker all the signs are bad for my alloa selection. Not that im too bothered about the size of Raith backers ratio its more im up against mr willly hilll with them best priced 5/4 Raith. There is obviously some major doubts about something i dont know about. Ill go look but its a rare time when i have to go heads up v Hills exclusively as theyre definetly the most clued up about scottish football. Ive taken them on and Mr Fixit from the daily record at the same time so sod them. (no that is not the attitude master komp ...fuck i could be a grandad next week. I better get bashing them bookies again (you never did komp you just went on like a drunken clown)

I need to find links for my links collection so lets go get some fan forums and see more.....

aye not much optomism in the air for Raith fans at all. Theyve got nothing really to get excited about it seems. Spence almost expected to score at least once. Raith probable rightfull favourites just based on their 2nd half performance last week and the likes of Nade playing with them but all in they might just all add up to be a big steaming pile of shit. Suppose the draw is a worry too.

Alloa manager happy enough in defeat last week it seems
