Ooooh there's a couple to go at there. I'm going to have to make a trip to the bank to deposit some of the money that i withdrew that i said i wasn't going to gamble with :duh

Odds on but i'd be surprised if Luton fail to win in the early game. I'll be on them at the best price possible.

I'm off to the Hereford v Kiddie game later on, a local derby, i best dig me Doc Martins out for this one. It's got draw written all over it btw.

Good luck Punt, I'd like to chip in but haven't watched any non league football at all this season.

It's great to see a Conference thread! :yahoo

Good luck Punter. Enjoy your match; I'll be at Aldershot-FGR.

I'm on two so far. Alfreton looked good in winning at Aldershot, :cry and since then have steadily climbed into the play-off places. Wrexham are more miss than hit on their travels; two of their three away wins have come at hapless Dartford and Hyde. BetVic offer 13/8; the only bookie offering more than the 6/4 which is the longest I can make it.

I've got some antepost interest in Conference North so keep a bit of an eye on it; pre-season favourites Telford are coming into form after a shaky start (eight wins in ten) while opponents Hednesford have slipped from top spot and only have two wins in eight. I've talked myself into taking BetVic's 11/10 for Telford.

So, Alfreton and Telford both came in for a decent start to the year. :)

What do you think of Alfretons chances of gaining a play-off place TC?

Im about to bet on them for promotion at 11-1*(in a few accas) as it looks v likely that Cambridge will be in the play-offs and Im hedging that.

Everything else is looking rather predictable I think so Ive started dreaming of the mighty Alfreton winning the playoffs.......:beer  :unsure

*if they lose to Barnet in the next game I wont mind too much as it shouldnt make too much difference to the price I dont think

Stoke now 40-1:frown

But Sunderland are still 11-4!!

Thats with Bet 365 who really seem to think The Hammers are doomed!

I genuinely don't know hotspur. I don't know what sort of squad depth they've got, or short term loans etc. However, the certainly looked competent at Aldershot. If I assume Luton and Cambridge and maybe Grimsby and Kiddie are likely to make up four of the top five, that leaves at least one play-off place up for grabs and Alfreton are in possession of it at the moment. On current form I guess 11/1 looks a decent shout.

Although you wouldn't know if from recent results, Alfreton are heading for a mini-crisis unless they can get some players in quickly. They have a small squad and they are having to play players out of position due to injuries and if Akindi gets injured or leaves, you can forget any chance of promotion.

They've just brought in another loanee midfielder from Mansfield but they have overachieved thus far and the second half of the season will see the wheels come off in my opinion.

I wouldn't back them at 20/1. let alone 11/1 but It's your money.

I'm on Barnet tomorrow (if it's not rained off)

Nice one TC, decent start to the year indeed :thumb

I took Alfreton to win the league just before this game, based on the facts that i'm nicely on Luton to win the league anyway, you'd tipped them up to win v Wrexham and also, not so long back i heard rumour of a takeover that would make them the richest club in the league.
I'm guessing the last one turned out to be bollocks but for a quid fifty and odds of 84, sat third in the league, i took it as cheap insurance.

Saturday Barnet 1 Alfreton 0

Tuesday, Lincoln 4 Alfreton 1. Yes, that's Lincoln, who have won one league game since August.

Still, what do I know? You guys are the experts, right?
