World Cup of Darts 2016

Apologies for the late post, as the tournament got underway earlier tonight. As with last year, going with AUSTRIA at 50's. Mensur Sulovic is a bit " streaky ", but has beaten all the top guys, with plenty of these wins being on TV. His partner Rowby - John Rodriguz, is a former world Youth runner - up, who I feel could step up any time soon. Would not be the greatest upset ever as they are the 8th seed, but obviously England, Scotland and the Dutch will all be very strong.

Austria through to the last 8 with the minimum of fuss and are joined there by England, Canada, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, Australia and Netherlands. Of the top 8 seeds, only Wales failed to get through. In the circumstances a tough QF was always likely and Austria are up against England. Obviously Taylor and Lewis are going to be favourites, but don't believe they are 1/5 shots.

The quarter-finals & semi-finals will be played as two best-of-seven leg singles matches, with both nations nominating the order in which their players play. In the event of both nations winning one singles match apiece, a best-of-seven leg doubles match will be played to decide the tie. The final will also have reverse singles matches if needed.

Sulovic averaged over 100 in the last round and in such a short format, if either can get going then they are more than capable of winning.
