Day 3 Aintree Festival ( Inc Grand National )

1.45 - THE MIGHTY DON and SYKES - TMD does not have much in hand, but comes here in good form and ran a nice race at the festival. 25's looks fair. Sykes is another fair sort, who comes here in decent form and does go on the ground. Weight may stop him, but 40's looks a shade big.

5.15 ( Grand National ) - Gone with 3 in the big one and can see them all giving me a run for my money -

I've somehow managed to pick out a few nice priced winners at Aintree so far, so posting today's selections will no doubt end that in spectacular fashion

1.45 - RED INDIAN and JEANNOT DE NONANT
2.25 - BLACK OP
3.40 - PEARL SWAN
5.15 - SEEYOUATMIDNIGHT, THE DUTCHMAN and RAZ DE MAREE
6.20 - WILLIAM OF ORANGE and FINAL CHOICE

I fancy there to be only around 10 finishers in the Grand National, but the only bookie offering odds are Bet365 who go 4/7 for UNDER 16, which looks a strong bet but a bit short for me, and Skybet who go 11/8 for UNDER 12, which is a bit near to what I think. If UNDER 16 was nearer evens I'd be all over that.

If you could bet on one horse not to get around the course it should be Bless the Wings but I love the jockey so I'm hoping he can work a miracle. I can't remember the last time I picked the winner (got beaten by a nose in the Richie McLernon one 5 or 6 years ago at a big price) and I've already resigned myself to seeing none of my money again but a place would get me my dosh back so I'm kind of clinging to that hope.
