Carling cup semis 24-25th Jan

Well done to Liverpool, they deserved it over both legs and if it wasn't for Hart they could have been out of site in the first 45 mins tonight.
City were always in with a shout due to the scoreline but as soon as we scored that 2nd in the second half I thought 'oh dear we have scored to soon', we could have done with that @ 10 mins to go as Liverpool as expected at that point were playing deeper and deeper.

Liverpool can only beat themselves now in this comp as they have a bad habit of not taking so called 'lesser' sides seriously but with it being a final I expect them to be up for it and hope they win it.

All being fair I think it's only right now that Liverpool turn over Man U on the 11th of Feb to return the favour:lol

As much as I'm chuffed we're in the final, still the same old problem for the team in not converting chances, although Hart was brilliant.

Bossed the game but had to rely on the ref in the end.

I actually think Kenny was going to bring Carroll on for Bellamy until he scored.

Man Utd game on Jan 28th is the important one.

Now your in a final I have a feeling the game on Saturday will go on the back burner and that all important 4th spot will come into play.

you were lacking up front tonight but that will right itself once Suarez is back.

The pen tonight was a bit harsh but that was only after seeing the replay, I must admit when i saw it in real play I thought it was a pen, my main concern was ffs Dowd plse don't send him off, had it been Foy or Atkinson in charge I think City would now be looking at another player suspended.

Great result for Liverpool. It might only be the CC but we've always taken this competition seriously, and trip to Wembley was much needed as we havent been there since '96.

As for the pen i thought it was a definate, Richards was unlucky admittedly but you cant raise your hands like that, it was a shot on goal from close range and had every chance of hitting the back of the net. Having said that, John Terry has got away with a few of those down the years, where nothing has been given.
City's was a stone wall pen too for Adams foul on Dzeko, how the ref missed that i'll never know, i'm surprised City didnt appeal more.

City made it a great game and i thought the commentary team were a little harsh about Savic, he looks set to have a good future, he's young and that would of been a tough game for any central defender last night with the mood Bellamy was in, and as for Joe Hart, he's starting to remind me more and more of Peter Schmeichel every game, he makes himself big in that goal.

It was never a pen Punter, not in a million years! You deserved to go through though.
The only consolation for me was the sight of man united fans doing starjumps and shouting with joy when Liverpool scored :lol

they know!

No Keem' it was a definate pen, clear pen, the way he dived across with his hands outstretched reminded me of the save made by the great Gordon Banks from Pele.

See the resemblance with the handball? Definate Pen. Tell him Wayne...tell him it was a pen!

On another note, anybody got any Phil Dowd stats?...i cant remember the last time we lost a game when he was reffing, definate scouser on the quiet him. He's the only one we've got left mind, the rest dont like us very much.

Cheers Rc, sooner than i thought, but looking at the teams that day there's nothing he could of done for us.
