Phelan ready for tough challenge.
Mike Phelan is looking forward to the task of keeping Hull City in the Premier League after being confirmed as the new permanent head coach of the Tigers. Phelan took over as caretaker boss more than two months ago following Steve Bruce's departure and helped Hull record wins over Leicester City and Swansea City in their first two games of the campaign. Although they have not managed to register a victory since, Phelan remains upbeat, saying: "I'm happy with the position I'm now in and looking forward to the challenge ahead. "It is important that we move forward and help this squad of players be successful for this football club, so roll on the next few games." Hull take on Bournemouth on Saturday and are 16/1 with bet365 to beat the Cherries 2-1, with Robert Snodgrass priced at 15/4 to score at any time in the game.
Cathcart set to miss Teesside trip.
Northern Ireland international Craig Cathcart is set to miss Watford's Premier League match at Middlesbrough on Sunday because of an injury that has been troubling him since the summer. "Cathcart will probably not make it," said Hornets boss Walter Mazzarri. "Even when we started pre-season, he had some problems which go from his leg right up to the abdominals, but we are following his progress." Meanwhile, Isaac Success is available for the trip to Teesside after recovering from a dead leg and Mazzarri is confident both Valon Behrami and Miguel Britos will also be able to feature in the game. Success is 3/1 with bet365 to score at any time against Boro, while Watford are 4/1 to score in both halves of the encounter.
Heaton on course to extend run.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche is confident that Tom Heaton has recovered from the calf problem that forced him to pull out of the England squad on Sunday. The former Bristol City goalkeeper looks set to play at Southampton this weekend and start his 138th Clarets game in a row. Dyche said: "We're very hopeful with Tom. It was only minor and hopefully that settles down." The Burnley manager has also been boosted by the news that striker Ashley Barnes has returned to full training after three months out with a niggling hamstring problem. Burnley are 11/2 with bet365 to keep a clean sheet at St Mary's on Sunday, while a 1-1 draw on the south coast is available at 9/1.
