Eurovision 2015

Any entry from Serbia has a lot to live up to after one of the best entries of all time in 2007. Here Chiara's Balkan cousin sings a traditional song with no commerciality whatsoever and will remain instantly forgettable to televoters and jurors alike.

Sorry steve i had no idea about eurovision instrumentals. I was just being 'chatty'. Now that we're talking about it though im reading that instrumentals are not allowed (in any language)

Gonna go listen to what youve posted since though. Im determined to try and have a good eurovision this year (beer, bets and interaction). Be the first one i enjoyed since 2005 looking back on it all.

My nephew is 17yrs old now and an avid bettor. His first real betting memory was about 11 years ago when me and slick (and others) where on turkey at 25/1 and they won it on the last vote. He got his promised 'big toy' afterwards. His uncle komp was in the loo having a shite on the last vote as he was too drunk to realise that there was another vote to go, This year i might have a flatfull of 17yr old euro-bettors who all think they are onto a good thing. Even if a 17yr old girl likes my maturity and wants to wank me off into a sink i think im now old enough to tell her to behave but ....well if she really wants to feel my old decrepit cock then hows a man to resist?

ach no wonder i dont post online anymore. I cant live with myself next day. Im going to try and employ a rule that 'anything i say or do when drunk i have to do it when im sober'. that might make me shut up. I cant be a dick all my life. Too many sober days.

Fat women and eastern europians. Serbia is too easy for me to slag. Online and off i want to promote 'encouragement not judgement' but i suppose it doesnt lend itself to many laughs. Serbias effort this year isnt very good is it? Why do 'meatier women' see singing as a god given right to them? Bigger appetites bones = bigger lungs maybe? (and bigger self delusion and more fragile egos) I have a mid wwank chuckle to myself when a 'big titted' porn star who is just fat really get loads of attention about their sweaty malformed bum area.

bah. 'encouragment not judgement'. Itt's hard though as fat women are such easy targets. Even i feel slim in their grasp. Fat blokes must have similar traits no? Fat blokes are....hard? Nope just fat. Usually not 'mean enough' from my experience. Funny? ....ach i give up. I bore myself. I cant even talk to my new found son as im a proffessional shitebag with no reademing features. Who cares what ive got to say?

Suppose im doing no harm really. Well barr to myself. Suppose you all know that im a 'sky rocket' these days anyhow.

I'm not ruling anyone out after last year. Better wait for the rehearsals anyhow.

Iceland - not good not bad cant win although its maybe the best so far.

Cyprus - ditto. nothing to suggest it could do anything.

Lithuania - sounds better than even the 2 above. Again though its not gonna be good enough to win. Eurovision as a betting medium only appeals to folks like me (and you) because we think we can see something that the bookies cant and we will bet accordingly. If every song is this average then i think in time we'll all just not bother.

Malta - saying nothing. its all shit it seems.

Czech Rep - nooooo i hate soft rock/crap and so does grannies and gay voters. Fuck i dont know if i could sit through the first 2 hours of eurovision this year. It might just be me but ITS ALL SHIT!!! (so far)

Fuck im real depressed now. Eurovison song contest is shit. Always was. It wasnt always so shit though was it? :unsure

I need some of this just to remind me of what it should be all about.....

You sure you aint posting up songs that fisnished last in the countries qualifying steve?

me and slick used to cry to this Cyprus entry in 2004. Got no where but it still stands head and shoulders above this lot

Yes I liked Stronger Every Minute. It was her dress which let her down. Whilst we are reminiscing I must post the 2006 Russian entry, which would have won but for his poor English. I must confess I'm a hopeless romantic. Here are the lyrics:

Heavy clouds, no rain
And every move causes pain
Ready kiss, but no love
I feel i'm torn in half
Burning look, but no heat
It's not you really need
Baby now it's happened with us
We are dancing on broken glass
Can't stand no more

Never, never let you go
You are the one i'm searching for
Flesh of my flesh,
bone of my bone
Love's carving it in the stone
Never, never let you go
Return the days we had before
Soul of my soul, blood of my blood
Love's carving it in my heart

Gentle words, no aim
It seems we're playing a game
Easy smile, but no fun
Sweet music for no one
Close embrace, but no more
Cold champagne we forgot to pour
Baby now it's happened with us
We're dancing on broken glass
Can't stand no more

As we wait for the next country Estonia to declare its entry and fill what is definitely a midweek lull in the proceedings (or an anticipatory excitement depending on your point of view) it might be worth recalling entries of bygone years:

Most meaningful performance and lyrics ever:

Most beautiful woman ever to grace the stage at Eurovision:

The Estonian song this year is an acoustic arrangement similar to the Netherlands last year which took us all by surprise, but it needs a Richard Carpenter to synchronize vocals and work on its blandness, otherwise it may fall flat if it comes too early in the running order. Should qualify.

Here are some more entries for this year's contest.starting with Ireland. It's a sweet sound but devoid of the knockout factor which they need faced with the shifting European geography, and odds may be for it not to qualify, sad to say.

A standard Israeli entry, which must once again risk the danger of non-qualification.

A surprisingly good entry from Latvia, which needs a little work but should easily qualify.

I'm sure the Hungarian song sounds good after a few plays, but does it have the immediate impact to sway voters or will it fall flat on the night..

Finland's entry has become an early favourite, but this song is just a rip off of Lordi's 2006 performance and will not win.

Paloma Faith-lookalike Maraaya from Slovenia gives the country their best performance in years,if they can work on the choreography and she loses those headphones. Definite qualifier.

We've all heard the Italian entry so many times before; a strong crescendo of emotion which the singers involved may or may not pull off and we all go up to heaven at the end..

It has come to my attention that some of the previous videos have been withdrawn,so here's Italy's entry again, though hard to judge without the live performance. It will be interesting to see whether these young Three Tenors have the gravitas to carry off the potential of a powerful song.

Eurovision fans have a treat in store when a special tribute programme airs from London's Hammersmith Apollo at the end of the month, when hosts Graham Norton and Petra Mede will reminisce on a Golden Age,or amass a collection of has-beens depending on your point of view. I divulge a snippet of the kind of thing to expect:

Having just watched a performance of Ireland's own Molly I didn't know she was such a beautiful creature and sitting at the piano at that. Ireland is back at long last.
