Eurovision Song Contest 12th - 16th May 2026

Thats incredible televote figures, both for the gigantic scale of the Israel win and the fact the UK didnt come last in it.

Would the large numbers of Brits living on the Spanish costas have played a part there? Do people vote patriotically in these things rather than for their genuine favourite? Or was our song last year so bad that not even the patriotic vote could save it (was it that "What the hell just happened" one? Or was that the year before)? :lol

It might be even more amplified this year with the noise around it going to yet another level? No wonder they are favourites to win the televote.
I'm not sure - the Israeli action in Gaza was pretty full on at the time of the contest last year, and their act in 2025 was someone who survived the music festival attack by Hamas in 2023 - so motivation to vote was likely higher last year. Along with the limits on the number of votes per voter, I'd expect a slightly smaller Israeli televote this year (but still plenty strong enough to hoover up multiple 12pts.)

That was the one! I think the patriotic vote works somewhat when the entry is strong, but the worse the entry, the less the patriotic vote - and the UK usually has a mediocre entry...

Countries like Greece can usually count on a far more fervent diaspora vote - Eurovision is much more of an 'identity event' for some communities whereas amongst Brits it's still viewed overwhelmingly as a cheesy joke. Countries like Ukraine will have a significantly motivated community who see a vote as supporting a country at war. So the patriotic factor is a big deal in some country's fortunes, just not for us :lol

Yep that was the one, it was awful. On a positive note we were awarded Douze points by a mouse. They also got a massive nothing out of the televote if I remember correctly :lol

Good info as always Beanie thanks. I took some Israel top 5 @ 1.73. I prefer long shots but it was an arb as well at 10am this morning.so I had a dabble.

I'm out of control. Australia Jury vote winners @ 2.88 (unibet). Israel Tele vote winners @ 2.20 (parimatch/talksportbet)

Not based on analysis, as I write you can lay these on betfair @ 2.78 and 2.02 respectively

Ahh yes, received from Parimatch 2 hours after placing that bet. Subject "Important info regarding your account"

"we are sorry to tell you that our senior traders have made the decision to stop accepting sports bets from your account. Please note that this restriction will apply to any accounts operated by BV Gaming"

Cnuts.

Jeez thats brutal. Ive mostly given up with the high street bookies these days - half of them allow me under ÂŁ2 on the eurovision bets and the others refer every bet to a trader and drop the price while im trying to put it on. Waste of time.

Caught the end of Semi final 2 there. All the bets I placed so far still in the running, hope its the same for all of you.

Apologies to any fellow Greece bettors. I am taking full responsibility for the crash after my comments in here the other day 🫢. Did Australia crush it tonight? They are really motoring in the betfair market.

I'm not sure I quite understand the Australia love at current price. They will do very well with juries for sure but the online stats tonight weren't great (see Telly stats) so I'm not sure the televotes are there.

Greece not totally dead yet - still doing well on social media and the more youthful juries this year may give it an unexpected leg up. I've eased my position on it but if it drifts much more I'll go back in.

Running order will get released overnight, then let's see how things lie!

I was backing Norway for top 10 @ 18 this morning, and my lays are currently getting matched at 5.00ish despite what I thought was an underwhelming performance in the semi and poor reaction on socials. Go figure.

Yep Beanie what a great tip thanks dude. I followed it after you posted and have some @ 13.0. Not as good as your price but still looking good now. I might follow you and lay some off then if it stays short.

Ah nice. Yeah, my confidence has dipped a bit, thought it would get a little more reaction. Will see where the odds settle tomorrow. I'm keeping an eye on the Big 4 markets - its essentially Italy v France and italy hovering around 2.50, 2.75 with Unibet. Its French jury strength vs Italy televote strength, and I think its probably an even money shot, but lets see tomorrow when the rest of the books get their prices up.

I was going to bet that with Unibet but I stopped myself and have left it. Won’t touch it till tomorrow lunchtime. I know if I bet it they will change the price so will leave it for you if you want it Beanie. I mean it might change anyway as it’s clearly out of line but I’m not touching it till tomorrow.

Running order is relatively favourable so go grab it Jez (down to 2.50 now) - don't think it will last too long today. I managed to get a decent bet on with bet365.

Unfortunately I sent my previous message then fell asleep. Now awake I see unsurprisingly that price from last night or even anything over evens is gone. Never mind. It was a good tip thanks Beanie and someone will hopefully be enjoying that bet on Sat evening.

I'm going to go and look at the running order now. Finland odds on :cry:cry:cry

Last place looking tough to pick this year, and everybody scared to take money on it so far. Those exchange markets are not tight at the moment.

Greece 14/1 on betfair. Life comes at you fast.

Took more Italy top 5 @ 3.50. Available at loads of books, its how I get my money back.
