Sunday ..and the bet today is NICE to win at home to VALLENCE .
That has been the outcome in this fixture in 6 of the last 7 corresponding meetings , indeed VALLENCE find it hard to even score a goal at NICE with only netting twice [in the same game] in those 7 fixtures whilst conceding 15 .

NICE are in mid-table [10th] but 8 places above VALLENCE and have won 1 and drawn 1 at home .

VALLENCE are proving to be dodgy away from home this season , losing to BASTIA [8th] and LORIENT [14th].

Further strength is given NICE after reading this preview from another Tipster i respect -

Nice – Valenciennes

There are no new problems for Nice here. Midfielder Mahamane Traore and winger Valentin Eysseric are still injured, but there are no other absences of note. Valenciennes’ situation has also improved recently. A few weeks ago they had loads of players in their infirmary, but now a number of players are fit again. The only real two notable players ruled out here are defender Loris Nery and attacker Bahebeck. The latter has been missed because he started the season with some real energy. Good news for VA is that key striker Gregory Pujol is back fit again, although how long until the next injury hits him remains to be seen.

This will be the first ever match played at Nice’s new stadium, the Allianz Riviera. Obviously, this is a massive occasion for the club and all of their players will be exceptionally motivated to perform well and get victory. They might not need to break too much sweat to get all 3 points though because Valenciennes are a pretty awful team at the moment. They have followed up an opening day win against Toulouse with 4 consecutive defeats and clearly they have plenty of issues at the moment. They can’t score goals, they can’t keep clean sheets and not much seems to be going their way. A few players are still trying to integrate into the squad too which is taking some time. There are plenty of factors in Nice’s favour ahead of this game and I expect them to claim all 3 points comfortably. Last year, this fixture ended 5-0 and I couldn’t rule out a similar scoreline. Nice look to be in a decent rhythm right now, their win at Lille last week proves this. They have too much class and quality for VA and I have no hesitation in backing them -0.75.

I think the odds on offer are sound and as the thread is in decent health i'm upping the initial satke to 15pts pts which will be going onto NICE @ 1.80 [Wm Hill]

2-1 MARSEILLE :)

Tomorrow [Thursday] see's INTER MILAN take on FIORENTINA when the home side will be hoping to extent their recent h2h record in this fixture to 12-0-1.

These 2 are level on 10points in 3rd and 4th respectively , both 3-1-0 so far.

INTER slammed new boys SASSUOLO 7-0 over the weekend , after a fairly respectable 1-1 draw at home to JUVENTUS with DIEGO MILITO scoring twice on his comeback after a 7 month absence.
INTER look like starting with a full strength side .

FIORENTINA have had a good start but lost MARIO GOMEZ to injury against CAGLIARI [where they lost an 89th min goal] as well as having playmaker PIZZARO red-carded for which he miss's this game.
They have managed a win in the EUROPA [v Ferriera ] and away to ATALANTA last weekend but INTER should be a different kettle of fish .
I have watched them twice this season , they been selections in both , and i'm not convinced their defence is up to the job of keeping a clean sheet against quality sides.

Stake 27pts @ 2.10

Saturday
--------

B LEVERKUSEN v hannover 6-0-0 , odds - 1.36

PSG v toulouse 4-0-0 , 1.30

UTRECHT v roda 6-1-0 , 1.83

kilmarnock v CELTIC 1-1-17 , 1.40

Starting Bank 100pts
Current Bank - 252.03pts
Selections - 21
Wins - 18

Decided to bank the winnings from those last 2 bets as the odds were both in the top end .

Saturday - BAYER LEVERKUSEN have won the last 6 from 6 corresponding fixtures.

BAYER have on all 3 home match's this season and are currently in 3rd place in the Bundesiga albeit only one place above HANNOVER in 4th .

HANNOVER have done all their winning at home [4-0-0] , whilst losing twice away from home to BAYERN MUNICH and WOLFSBURG , [and their last win at home was courtesy of a penalty in the 89th min !]
The last 2 seasons have been expensive for HANNOVER when playing away as they have won only 6 times from 34 games .

BAYER have CL duties mid-week but they seem to be coping well in the league as they won before and after their 4-2 defeat at Old Trafford.
It seems to be generally accepted that coach Sami Hyypia is rotating the squad well and this looks a decent chance of another 3pts against a side they have a good recent record .

Stake 15pts on BAYER LEVERKUSEN @ 1.40 [Betfair]

Whatever the result of the LEVERKUSEN match the next bet will be UTRECHT to beat RODA at home which they have done in 11 games from the past 15 [other 4 were draws ]

UTRECHT [14th] caused us a bit of concern last time they had the cash on they but they held fast and came through 2-1.
The are 2-1-0 at home so far beating Waalwijk [16th] and Alkmaar [9th] while drawing with GA Eagles [11th] .
UTRECHT are generally pretty strong at home , losing mainly to better side's than RODA.
They should have C Van Der Gun [forward] back in their line-up to help bolster the attack.

RODA are on the same points as UTRECHT but their away form [as usual] is something which is a worry [ loss's to AJAX and FEYENOORD so far ] winning only against 2nd bottom side DEN HAAG.
More importantly is the fact they will be missing their regular right-back after he was sent off in their narrow 2-1 win over an amateur side last time out.

The odds are going down , 1.72 is the norm , although 1.83 is available still from Coral's and Wm Hill .
As the stake is reliant on the German result let's hope the 1.83 is still available after the final whistle there.

LEVERKUSEN 2-0

Returned 20.70pts which has been bet on UTRECHT @ 1.80 with Paddy Power.

Nice treble Luther

Well what can you say ...3-3 with UTRECHT managing 3 goals from 4 shots on target while RODA had 12 shots on target with 61% possession ..!!

Lets hope TWENTE can get us back on track on Sunday as they have a 8-0-0 home record v Groningen

TWENTE are only 1pt in front of Groningen in the league but it's Groningen's away form which , when coupled with the h2h's , point toward an another home victory here.
1-1-2 so far with the sole win coming against Bottom club Nijmegen , drawing with 15th placed GA Eagles and lost to Heereveen [6th] and Cambuur [12th]
They have regular defender Letschert out through suspension .

Stake 15pts on TWENTE @ 1.40 [coral]

FIORENTINA 2-2

Saturday
---------

CELTIC v motherwell 20-2-1 , odds - 1.44

PANIONIOS v aris 5-1-0 , 2.25

Sunday
-------

SPARTAK MOSCOW v terek 5-1-0 , 1.36

SPURS v west ham 5-1-0 , 1.44

CATANIA v genoa 5-0-0 , 2.20

ANDERLECHT v kortrijk 6-1-0 , 1.30

Saturday - CELTIC have won 20 of the past 23 meetings between them and MOTHERWELL at Parkhead , 18 of which have been win-to-nil .

CELTIC were unfortunate [again] not to pick up a point in the Champions League in mid-week when they played host to Barcelona .
Down to 10 men after 56 mins they a couple of decent chance's before Fabregas scored the winner in the 76th min .
They still have INVERNESS to chase in the SPL and a win over 3rd placed MOTHERWELL will create a 6pt gap between them .

MOTHERWELL are having a good run so far this season with 4 wins and 1 draw from 8 games but those 3 of those wins were all against teams currently in the bottom half of the table .
The other win was against 5th placed Hibs on opening day just after that side had lost 9-0 on aggregate in the Europa Qualifiers to Malmo.

Providing Celtic react positively to the Barcelona result they have a great chance of winning this and the 1.44 on offer from Ladbrokes and Hills seems generous enough.

Stake 21pts @ 1.44

The CELTIC match should be over by the time the next bet kicks-off so the stake is dependent on that result .

PANIONIOS take on ARIS in the Greek Super League and they have won 5 of the past 6 meetings [other was a draw]

PANIONIOS have a record this season of 1-3-2 [1-1-1 at home]
Of the 3 home games the defeat against top of the table OLYMPIAKOS was hardly unexpected but a draw against 8th placed side PANTHRAKIKOS and a win v 3rd placed PANATHINAIKOS was very respectable indeed .
They have also drawn away to 5th placed ERGOTELIS while their sole away loss was v 2nd placed PAOK.

ARIS [18th and bottom of the league] have not won in 3 away games , scoring only once , indeed ARIS have yet to win all 6 league games this season .

Dependant on the CELTIC result either the total returns or 15pts on PANIONIOS will be staked

When i started to post write-ups for the selections i thought were strong enought to bet on i had set an odds limit on myself of sticking to side's priced between 1.33 and 1.8 ....PANIONIOS were 2.45 and i fell for them after starting to believe i had this betting lark sussed ...

STICK TO THE RULES !!!!

CELTIC 2-0
PANIONIOS 1-2

I will update all totals after tomorrows games , next week is International week-end ...so let's try and end on a high before the break .

At 10.30 on Sunday morning SPARTAK MOSCOW take on TEREK [yes i know it's Russia but let's dip the toes in and see how it goes] and they have won 5 of the last 6 corresponding meetings since 2005.
SPARTAK are 3rd in the table with a home record of 3-1-0 with 2 of those wins coming against teams in 4th and 5th.

TEREK are in 15th spot having lost all 5 aways so far , scoring only twice .

Stake 15pts on SPARTAK MOSCOW @ 1.50 [ Betfair sportsbook]

1.33 is available now from BetVictor but they are the only ones above 1.30 [apart from Betfair] so a bet on ANDERLECHT to beat KORTRIJK for the 7 time in 7 start's is dependant on weather those odds are still on offer after the final whistle in the SPARTAK match.

If they are then ANDERLECHT hold a favourites chance as they are 4-0-1 at home , scoring 18 and conceding 6.
Theyr suffered a 3-0 home defeat in the CL to Olympiakos mid-week but if the stats are anything to go by they appear to have been unfortunate , 1-0 down they missed a penalty to square things up , they had 7 shots on target [Olympiakos had 5] and 11 off target [Greeks had 3] and 8 corners to the Greeks 1 , it would appear to have been one of those nights !!
ANDERLECHT sit in 4th place and really need 3pts here to keep within touching distance of CLUB BRUGGE and STANDARD.

KORTRIJK are sitting in a respectable 7th place in the league , but that's mostly down to home form [3-1-1] as they are only 1-0-3 away from home and that sole win was against 9th placed CHARLEROI.

This game kicks-of at 13.30 so there should be plenty of time to see if 1.33 is available from any bookie/exchange.

This one may be the 1st , 2nd or 3rd bet depending on the result's of the above so here goes ..

SPURS take on WEST HAM whom they have lost only to in 16 top-flight games , 11-4-1 and won 5 of the last 6 conceding only once and scoring 11.

SPURS sit in 4th spot in the Premier League and are 2-1-0 at home while the HAMMER'S languish in 18th having gathered only 5pts from a possible 18 and whilst drawing 2 of their 3 aways they have failed to score in all 3 [they only managed 11 goals in 19 aways last season]
Andy Carroll remains out injured.

SPURS have lost only one game since the start of the season in all competitive match's , 9-1-1 , losing to ARSENAL[2nd] away and drawing with CHELSEA[6th] at home in the EPL.

Odds stand at 1.44 , let's hope they stay that way.

Didn't realise the SPARTAK game was to be played on Neutral ground ...:cryOne of those weekend's by the look of it ...SPARTAK 0-0 ....
frown2.gif
....unfortunately the cash was down by the time i read this ...
embarassed.gif

At least ANDERLECHT are a bit easier to back as they are now 1.40 with Betfair Sportsbook

Next bet therefore is 15pts on ANDERLECHT @ 1.40

Certainly becoming a bit of a nightmare weekend as ANDERLECHT go down 1-0 at home ...

Question is , do i persevere with SPURS or do i retreat gracefully , lick my wounds and come back fresh after next weeks break ........stuff it COME ON SPURS , 15pts @ 1.44

Woke up after my lie down and perused today's action ..just in case...and there is a game that we can have an interest in over in Argentina.

VELEZ v OLIMPO has fell to the away side in 5 from 6 corresponding fixture's with OLIMPO only managing to score once[backi in 2004] while VELEZ have netted 12 times.

VELEZ are 2-2-0 at home , win's against top of the league NEWELLS and 5th placed RAFAELA and draws v the 3rd and 11th in the league [VELEZ are in 12th]
They have only let in one goal in those 4 games.

OLIMPO would appear to be trouble as they sit in 2nd bottom place in the league with an away record of 0-0-5 scored 3 conceded 12.
Granted, all the 5 teams that beat they were in the top half of the table, but as VELEZ are just under that line , coupled with h2h and their strong home form i can't see OLIMPO taking anything form this .

Here's a preview of the game another website -

Velez Sarsfield vs Olimpo
Olimpo haven't shown us anything yet to suggest they can avoid defeat away from home

TEAM NEWS

Sebastian Dominguez returned from injury for Velez on Monday away to Gimnasia, and his red card just before half time proved key; in the second half, Gimnasia overturned a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1. Better news is that Lucas Romero was also back in the side for that game, and unlike Dominguez, he managed not to get himself suspended.

Olimpo left it late to salvage a 1-1 draw against Estudiantes last weekend thanks to an 90th-minute equaliser from former Estudiantes man Matias Sarulyte. They don't have any suspensions here, but defender Nestor Moiraghi is almost certain to miss out here after picking up a hamstring injury.

Velez
Suspended: Sebastian Dominguez (sent off in last match)
Doubtful: None
Injured/unavailable: None

Olimpo
Suspended: None
Doubtful: None
Injured/unavailable: Agustin Vuletich (right ankle); Nestor Moiraghi (left hamstring)

MATCH PREVIEW

Velez's inconsistency continued again last week, as they took an early lead but later went down to ten men and ended up losing 2-1 to Gimnasia in La Plata. They weren't quite as bad as Gimnasia boss Pedro Troglio made out (he claimed their goal was the only chance they had), but it's undeniable that Velez are far more dangerous in Liniers than they are on the road.

That's going to be a problem for Olimpo, because the Bahia Blanca side are capable of grinding out draws at home, but can't buy a point in away games. They've scored just three times and conceded twelve in the process of losing their five away games so far. Statistically, their last two games (one home, one away), have looked more or less similar in terms of possession and shots on/off target, but Olimpo lack confidence in away games.

It's hard to see that changing here. Until now, betting on Olimpo to lose away from home has always been safe, and until they manage to do anything else, it seems sensible to keep doing so.

HEAD TO HEAD

Velez have been dominant against Olimpo recently; in recent seasons they've won five of these sides' six meetings, with Olimpo claiming the other. In their history, these sides have met fourteen times in total in the Primera, with Velez claiming eight wins to Olimpo's four, and two draws.

Back to 10pts after last weekend's debacle on VELEZ @ 1.60 from Wm Hills

Totals so far -

Starting Bank 100pts
Current Bank 152.03pts [not inc 10pts on VELEZ]
Selections 29
Wins 21

Unfortunately i decided to increase the stake to 15pts at exactly the wrong time and , even worse , failed to go back to a 10pt stake quickly enough.
