11.35 Fairview - CEDERPEAK - Royal Mermaid is a tracker horse, but a bit too short for me at 15/8. Would rather take a chance with Cederpeak at 80's.

Unlucky 2nd and 4th , both got hammered in the market tho specially MF its SP was 12s

No real reason for MF to get that well backed with just the one decent run form four. It was an open maiden though so was getting a ton of weight from the top 3 in the betting. There was even some 20's about Sombreuil early, but this was way too big as in her penultimate run, she was a short head behind the 7/4 Fav Tanzanite. Maiden plate that day, so both were running off level weights. With this one being an open maiden, Sombreuil was in receipt of 11lb. MF was also in that race and was better off with both ( though had run poorly twice after that ) so on that strict form should never have been the early 50's.

Not quite sure how the weights are worked out in an open maiden over there, but definitely worth keeping an eye on as horses can be in receipt of 20lb, which even brings a moderate horse into the equation.
