I was tempted with a couple of outsiders in Plymouth and Aldershot this week but reluctantly dropped them from the list in the end.
But I am taking Guy Madjo as 1st and anytime scorer @ 7/1 & 12/5 and to score a brace and Hat trick @ 14/1 & 80/1 with small bets too. Any thoughts on that one TC, other than hoping it comes in? :)

I've got Bolton @ 7/5, Bristol Rovers @ 6/5 and Shrewsbury -1 @ 11/4 in a Trixie.
I'm sure you'll understand my pessimism but i really do think the Shrews are the weekend banker in this league. They are available at just over Evens but i've been a bit braver and taken them minus 1

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16747626.stm

Better prices are available in some bets there but i'm restricted to skybet for a week or two.
Good luck all :beer

Do the Shrews do well in this derby, Punt ? Graham Turners managed them both for 30 years each hasnt he :unsure

It's usually who's in best shape, mainly Shrews in recent years, i think they did us last season if memory serves. I dont know about 30 years but he knows both clubs inside and out for sure. They're in good shape and up for it.

Hereford wont win, if they do it will probably be down to a very dodgy ref. A lay of Hereford would be the safest bet but i'm expecting more from the Shrews.

I think that looks a very good spot :thumb

Wimbledon's style of play is to not care how many they concede, but just try to score one more, and Wombles' manager Terry Brown played in the same way when he managed us. I think only Nothampton have conceded more at home, and they've let in at least one every home game this season.

We've only scored two league goals since 1 November, but I suppose if we're ever going to net again it's likely to be against a side that plays attacking football at the expense of solidity.

Madjo looked very lively last week, and should probably have scored a late 1-on-1. We usually play with a single striker, so I guess if we are to score he's the most likely. I'd not looked at scorer prices yet but 12/5 does seem generous (gut feeling about 2/1, maybe?) and I'll probably follow you on that one. The hat trick might be asking too much, but of course I'd love it to come off for you :crossfingers

Sadly, Wimbledon's good form and recent strengthening means we play them at a bad time. We've lost our midfield general (Luke Guttridge) to Northampton yesterday and as I'd have him as one of our top three players and we're off form I reckon the 11/8 for a home win is value. (I took it at 6/5 assuming it would drop to evens, but instead it's got longer :banghead) I don't know what's going wrong at Aldershot as we have some decent players, but Vic Chandler's 12/1 for relegation looks worryingly good value at the moment. I might have to change my status to 'Conference Punter' for next season.

This is been my busiest week of the year at work so I've not had a chance to look at team news etc so unless I get time tomorrow it's a watching brief apaert from Aldershot's game (I didn't even have a chance to look at the midweek fixture list). After a very quick scan the ones I'd probably look more closely at are Bristol, Plymouth and Oxford.

The RFO like Plymouth, have done for weeks. They also like Gillingham & ...err...Wimbledon :naughty

That was my line of thought exactly TC!!!

I'd stop the thought of relegation TC, no way are the Shots going down, i know it's easy to think like that after the run you've been on but my money would be on Hereford and D+R going. I was surprised to see Gutteridge go, especially to Northampton but Madjo will win you games.

I also had Oxford on my early list too, i didn't even find a reason for taking them off it :thinking

Expect you've probably seen by now, but in case you haven't, you've signed Stefan Payne from Gillingham.

Aye, I agree that Northampton and Plymouth should climb away. But we have been so, so, dire recently. :frown

Yeah, but one league goal doesn't inspire confidence (although you'll know better than I whether he's any good) and as we rigidly play one up front I'd expect him to either be on the bench or out wide where I think he's played before(?)

Think he only started 3 games for us though, usually only got a 5 or 10 minute run-out at the end. Can't personally say whether he's any good as I've not seen him play, but there were a lot of people on the forums thought he should've been given more of a chance, especially before we brought in Kuffour, when we were playing Kedwell on his own up front.

Hessenthaler's comments though always gave the impression that it was off-pitch matters that meant he wasn't getting his chance, seems he may have had a bit of an attitude problem.

I'm on the barnet bandwagon again I think. 17pnts from last 10 games & unbeaten in 4 now.

Bastard, didnt realise Shrewsbury was an early kick off :unsure Punter, I'm blaming you........go on, I've left it open for you :ohwell
