This was well after they'd gone past the post mate but before the replay. There is usually plenty of time for me to lay the one that the commentator has called if I doubt their judgement, it's not only the fast pic peeps that fuck me up (although it would explain the price drift but it was still odds on) IT'S THE USELESS CUNTS AT BETFAIR. Suspending the market for no fucking reason whatsoever. There is no standard process it's just like some twat is sitting in a chair and suspends it whenever they feel like it and sometimes keeping it suspended until the result is called.
There is no need for the market to be suspended at all. Same with football matches, they can suspend a game when a goal goes in and often another goal can be scored before the USELESS CUNTS have opened up the markets again. I understand that not everyone is watching the game and fair enough, there should be a modicum of protection for them but it would be enough to flash up PENALTY or something to stop people from placing bets when a penalty had been awarded. I'd like to go further and leave the market open for the whole game. That way you can back you judgement on whether you think a penalty will be scored or a man sent off or whatever.
I reckon it is THE most annoying thing about betting when I want to do something and the market are suspended for no logical reason
But, getting back to the photo-finishes, obviously it doesn't happen that often that the circumstances all fall into place that here is one and I happen to be at my machine watching AND the useless cunts at betfair happen to have it open in the short space of time before the replay but I reckon I profit 7 times out of every ten if I have an opinion remembering that, if you're laying at odds on (which I always am) a dead heat is also a profit. I know there are tracks with notorious bad angles and I would put more time into studying which side they favoured if there were enough of them to make it worthwhile. I actually had two winning photos in the space of 20 minutes not long ago. I thought it was this year but I've flicked through my phone looking for the text that I sent to my mate when it happened but can't find it.
There was one embarassing time that I got it wrong at York races. It was the second race and I had had two bets on course with the same bookie (I was struggling to get a 3G connection). My horse flashed past the post with another and I ripped my ticket up (along with the ticket for race one which, of course, was exactly the same as the ticket for race one as it was before the paper printouts). Mine was called the winner and so it was an interesting game of jigsaw to try to get the right fucking bits of the right ticket to get paid out.
Don't get me started on the incompetence of the Betfair employees
One of their favourite tricks on the US racing is to suspend the race when they go past the winning line the first time with a full circuit still to run....and they're so thick they don't realise that the race is still going in earnest so it doesn't even get opened back up....are they fucking watching or do they just turn the live feed off as soon as they suspend??? A tad annoying when you have liabilities that you were trying to trade in-running. Always seems to cost me money too.
