ODM's Pretty Young Things

He badly missed the break at York and probably finds that turning 7f too sharp, especially giving the field a big head start. The only time he's ever won over 7f round a bend was at Musselburgh earlier this year where they went a ridiculous gallop up front (smashed the course record) enabling him to power home (made me look a fool as I said he couldn't win over a turning 7f :duh).

He's won back to back races 3 times before so I'm really hoping they run him again soon (plenty of Newcastle AW meetings approaching).

Incidentally, he's always one to try for a big price in-running due to his slow starts, Timeform says he went 70.0 today but he actually touched 280.0 to small amounts), he hit 42.0 when winning at Musselburgh in June (SP 12/1) and hit 170.0 for his Chester win last year (SP 11/2).

Nice one mate - -thanks. do u get your historic inrunning figures from a site or are they from ur own records ?

Timeform show the highest price each winner traded at and the lowest price each loser hit in-running. It's on the free part of the site too. Quite handy to spot 'bridle ponces' who come there swinging on the bridle only to find nowt (incredible how many horses constantly traded short and lose), and also lazy types who respond to hard driving who often go massive odds mid-race before staying on from way back to win.

KALK BAY is entered in a 7f handicap on Monday at Chelmsford. I hope he doesn't run there as he's likely to find that too sharp.

There's a 1m handicap at Newcastle on the following Friday (25th) so hopefully he'll go for that, or a 7f handicap there on Monday 28th.

Steve Rogers 2nd at an inflated 14/1 (1/4 of the odds) returning 22.5 pts for the 28pts stake. Some Neck also second.

Two at Newcastle tomorrow

1250 Kananee 12 pt 13/8

125 Spring Fling 5pt ew 15/2

Just happened to switch over to ATR which reminded me that I have a tracker runner in the 915 Billyoakes 5pt ew 15/2

Kalk Bay tomorrow as Seen says. 500 Chelmsford. 5pt ew 14/1

Good luck mate. I do feel that he's gonna find this sharp 7f on the short side, will probably be finishing too late like he did on his previous run here. On the plus side there's several front-runners in the field which should ensure a strong pace, so maybe he'll get away with it like he did at Musselburgh.

If he does win I'm sure he'll go a big price in-running like he did last time so will be putting bets in from something like 30 right up to 1000 - it might sound fanciful but plenty of horses hit the ceiling price before winning and Kalk Bay is exactly the type to do that.

Kalk Bay could only finish 10th but I think he's still in form - the race wasn't run as fast as it looked like to be, and he just couldn't quicken.

Hopefully his connections will find him another race at Newcastle soon.

Lovely day with 2 winners. The second going in at 4/1:thumb

It's also down to run tomorrow in the 725 at Kempton so 5pt ew at 5/1 if it goes
