Premiership Winner 2013/14

3 horse race?? Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool??

You must be daft Andrew. either that or a Utd fan on a wind up.

I am a MUFC fan, but it clearly won't be their season.
Can't see many other teams breaking into this top 3 can you?

City are a two man team and I don't think they'll last the distance; they have had some good results on paper, but I'm just not convinced by them right now; plus Toure will be off on his Africa Cup thingy advertures again I'm guessing!

Nope Toure won't be off anywhere this year as there's no African Nations.

As for a two man team lol, is that a lucky dip and seeing who comes out of the hat?
I would safely hazard a guess City have the strongest squad in the Prem and are more equipped than anybody in the Prem to go the distance, whether they do mind is another matter.

Welome to Betnod by the way.

I thought it was played every 2 yrs and they had an odd year last year to balance it out so it didn't interfere with a world cup year, that will be three years on the bounce now.

Ahh that's the African nations championship not Cup, that's usually reserved for the local African nationals and not the oversea's players.

It's certaingly a three horse race now:

Arsenal
Chelsea
Liverpool

Arsenal have got 79.2% of their available points thus far and have won with decent margins (as have Chelsea), but also consider that Arsenal have 6 goal scorers on their squad (Chelsea 5 and Liverpool only 3) ... Arsenal will win this season.

When you were considering their 79.2% success rate so far, did it ever cross your mind that it may have helped that they haven't played anyone who's any good yet?

And, while we're at it, Liverpool have as much chance of finishing 3rd as I have of buggering the Pope with Heather Mills' missing leg.

United fan uh? What first attracted you to that particular team? Was it their brand of fast flowing attacking football, or their percentage points ratio at the time?

Gonna be interesting find out what happens at the end of the season. Keep your eye on the flight prices to Rome!

No idea really, I was 8 when I started following them, back in the 1890's though we didn't have Sky or BT Sports so had to watch the matches live!

I don't think you'd have been following Man United in the 1890's given that they didn't exist.

I'll keep an eye on your predictions though, as you obviously know what you're talking about :unsure

Prices now and (on the right) prices one month ago

Man City 2.88 was 3.5
Chelsea 3.9 4.3
Arsenal 6.6 5.4
Man United 11.5 8.2
Spurs 21 9.6
Liverpool 9.8 13.5
Everton 130 180
Southampton 340

And the standings after 8 games each
Arsenal 19
Chelsea 17
Liverpool 17
City 16
Spurs 16
Everton and Soton 15

With Arsenal on top and the most likely to come out of this weekend as net gainers, 6.6 look big to me.

On a personal note, I need City to get at least a draw at Chelsea on Sunday as they Chelsea are now my biggest loser and my biggest worry. I City win would be even better as it would allow me to balance my liabilities nicely. If Chelsea break away and win the league now I'm going to be taking a big hit.:frown

Gotta agree Arsenal look big, as Manure still do as well. Doesnt look like a 'run away' season for anyone to me

Whether Aresenal are/were value at 6.6 I cant say but I can say to those who think it is that the main reason they are top is that theyve had without doubt one of the easiset set of opening fixtures I can remember any Premier league team having.

Theyve beaten an underperforming Spurs team at home.

Er,thats it.

(edit-not sure whether Swans were in Europe before they played Arse,if not I spose thats a reasonable result but then Swans are the kind of team I expect Arse to do well against)

As I copy and paste this, City have just hit the bloody post. It's going to be a long week

With 2 thirds of the season gone I've chosen tonight to put all my eggs into two baskets. I've rejigged my Premiership winner bets to lump mostly on City with a decent return if Arsenal win. All other teams are losers for me and Chelsea winning the Prem will lose me more money than I've ever lost in a bet in my life.

The logic is that City are 2.22 on betfair. Spurs are seen as a tough nut to crack with 16 pts out of the last 18 or something and they will be a tough nut, no doubt. The market is also expecting Chelsea to hammer the hammers and that may well happen. However, neither are guaranteed and even if City were to draw and chelsea win, City host Chelsea next week and a win would put them back on top again - that's looking at the darker side of things. City could win and Chelsea draw or lose and if that happens, City could be 4/6 4/7 this time next week to win it.

So I've judged tonight as the time to strike.

Nice one ODM, I had similar thoughts but didn't want to air them in public and put the mockers on us.
