I've got a couple of punts in the opening group matches. In the past there seem to have been few upsets, presumably partly because there seems little point in the bigger sides fielding weakened teams on the opening day of competitive matches and partly because of the gulf between the divisions.

A Hamilton/Ross/Hibs treble is a fraction under 1/2 with Betfred. All three are very short priced and 'should' come in.

Peterhead v Cove looks more interesting. Peterhead won L2 last season, and according to Pie and Bovril have basically kept the same side together. Cove were promoted to L2 and (again according to Pie and Bovril) have a bit of cash to spend, have recruited strongly and are favourites for L2 this season. That to me points to the match being a bit more even than the bookies suggest (Peterhead around 4/7). I've taken Cove/draw double chance at Unibet's 11/8; not clubs I know much about but the price just looks too long.

Just saw this TC and although you've had a shit weekend there is definitely dosh to be made in this cup.

I had Ross C, Motherwell and bloody East Fife. Motherwell & Ross C win easy and EF get pumped.

Hibs not winning was a real shock imo as new manager and owner would have hoped for more. I work with a couple of hibs season ticket holders who regularly go to events and training sessions and the vibe was good (up until saturday anyway)

Thanks Kegman, this is a competition that has been kind to me since it reverted to pre-season groups, but my luck ran out big time this weekend. I followed the games I had an interest in live at Bet365 and to be honest these never looked like landing :giveup
