ThunderCelt's Conference National Anteposts

Gosport to win the Trophy at 7/1, Bet365, 84 units. I was hoping Havant would be out of sight after the first leg, but they're not, so I'm having to hedge.

600 units on Cambridge to win the Trophy, 1/4, Bet365. A small win on my Trophy bets if Cambridge win, and A small loss if they lose. Considering Aldershot (my original bet) had straightforward draws until they got knocked out - I didn't even bother opposing us in a couple of rounds - it shows the advantage bookies give themselves.

Well done done TC :thumb

I'll post Conference fixtures and odds up more next season. Bit of downer season with both of our clubs struggling and hard to get enthusiastic about for me.

I'd seriously consider backing Hereford to lose every game for the rest of the season though. We're in massive financial trouble, players and managers having to go etc. I've stopped reading about us now, been trying to find a relegation market for us but no joy. Unless a millionaire comes in and saves us we'll fold by end of season.

Thanks Punter. It looks as if Conference South might be my 'league of choice' next season :puke

Our message board seems to think Tamworth and Hyde are down, along with two of you, us and Dartford, with one place being decided at Shots v Bulls on the final day - if Hereford last that long. I wish the Bulls well in your survival bid.

Argh fuck, is it really Shots v Bulls last game of season? :puke

Thanks for the best wishes TC, and the same back to you :thumb

Chester to be bottom 4, 7/4, BetVic 127 units to return 349 units. Because of the struggling clubs they've got on paper the most difficult game of the day so could be shorter at 5pm, and because they looked rubbish at Aldershot a few weeks ago.

...and 136 units on Cambrudge to be promoted, 23/10 with Sky to return 449 units

Last two anteposts of the season, both Bet365

Halifax to be promoted, 3/1, 113 units
Gateshead to be promoted, 7/2, 100 units

So, to tot up the six markets I've gone for, with winning bets in bold

Bottom half finish:
Aldershot, Bottom half finish, 4/5, 70 units, 126 units returned

Top half finish:
Aldershot, top half finish, 7/4, 46 units
116 units spent on top/bottom half markets, 126 units returned
Profit - 10 units

Luton, 32 units, 11/4, 120 units returned

Forest Green, 50 units, 5/1
Cambridge, 100 units, 16/5
Grimsby, 50 units, 8/1
282 units spent, 420 units returned
Profit - 138 units

Promotion (still to be decided):
Grimsby, 100 units, 7/2
Cambridge, 136 units, 23/10
Halifax, 113 units, 3/1
Gateshead, 100 units, 7/2
449 units spent, 449-452 units to be returned, depending on who wins the play-offs.
Profit - 0-3 units

Trophy winner:
Cambridge, 600 units, 1/4, 750 units returned
Aldershot, 10 units, 66/1
Guisleley, 20 units, 33/1
Havant & W, 32 units, 20/1
Gosport, 84 units, 7/1
746 units spent, 750 units returned
Profit - 4 units

Top goalscorer:
Andre Gray, 100 units, 4/1, 500 units returned
Lee Gregory, 228 units, 6/5
328 units spent, 500 units returned
Profit - 172 units

Relegation:
Aldershot, 50 units, 6/1
Macclesfield, 100 units, 9/4
Tamworth, 150 units, evens, 300 units returned
Lincoln, 50 units, 5/1
Chester, 127 units, 7/4, 349 units returned
Hereford, 250 units, 2/5
727 units spent, 649 units returned
Loss - 78 units

Overall - 2,648 units spent, 2,894 - 2897 units returned
Profit - 247 units, yield approx. 9% :beer

I'm happy with that yield - it's more lucrative and more fun that sticking it in a building society. On the other hand, my Conference match bets showed a small loss :duh , so my Conference profit this season is about 6%.
