12.20 Greyville - BLACKBURN ROC - Stable 2nd string to the FAV, but nicely bred and showed a bit in his trial race. Decent alternative to said FAV, at 12's.

12.55 Greyville - GREAT DICTATOR - Got stopped at a key moment last time in his first h'cap and not a bad effort in the circumstances. Initial mark looks fair and could easily get involved at 10's.

2.40 Greyville - THE HIGH LIFE - Needed the run last time and that was over shorter as well, so can be safely ignored. Had proved capable prior to that and not sure I get the early 33's on offer.

3.50 Greyville - CASHMERE MIST - Drifter on official debut and ran accordingly. Trail run suggested something was there and once again shorter than he probably should be at 12's. The price could be a reflection of the lack of depth in the race, but also suggests to me that this one is capable of much better.
 
3.45 Navan - 3 EW's and FC / TC with these -

NIGG BAY at 12's
NORA BUTT at 14's
KEN'S SAM'S at 25's
 
2.10 Navan - SILVER SERVICE - Late foal, but nicely bred and the handler did train the sire. Risky, but happy to take the chance at 40's.

2.15 Wincanton - STYLISH MOMENT - Fair effort in sole bumper and encouragement from first 2 starts over hurdles. Will need to improve to take this, but has plenty of scope at 10's.

4.10 Stratford - MY CHARITY - Bit keen last time, so would need to settle better today. Solid form prior to that however and 12's looks big to me.

5.40 Rasen - MIDNIGHT SONATA - Nicely bred newcomer and the stable does well in this sphere and can get one ready at 14's.
 
Win in SA for Great Dictator, along with places for Silver Service, Stylish Moment, My Charity and Charlie Fox. Midnight Sonata made up ground fairly easily, before fading and assuming she benefits for the run, will be worth watching next time.

3.50 Flamingo Park - Going with 3 in the closing handicap -

4.50 Windsor - MERDON CASTLE - Never been the most consistent, but now 13 lb below last winning mark and enough positives last time on debut for this yard. High draw looks fine and can get involved at 11's.

5.00 Navan - MONDAY BLUES - Yard remains in good form and this one does look nicely enough bred. The stable had one run well yesterday on debut and thinking this one can also get involved at 20's

7.50 Windsor - NOTEWORTHY - Upped in trip for handicap debut and can leave his maiden form behind him at 16's.

8.10 Sedgefield - ROBERTTOWN ROSE - Did improve for 2nd start and whilst needing to improve again,, should probably not be 66's to do so.
 
Tuesday 24th April

1.50 Yarmouth - ISLAY MIST - Dam won 3 times, including a 2yo win on quick ground. Yard has had a juvenile win on debut this year and could be the surprise package this field at 16's.

2.25 Yarmouth - SOAR ABOVE - AL REEF looks the sensible one at 8's, but SA looks nicely enough bred and whilst aiming high on debut, could not ignore the 125's on show.

4.05 Ludlow - PERISHING MISSILE - Ex Noel Meade and English debut looked a fair effort. Step up in trip looks good on h'cap debut and really should be on the premises at 10's.

4.35 Huntingdon - GOTHIC EMPIRE and MIN TIKY - GE caught the eye of the stewards on hurdle debut, so it would be folly not to be at least a little more prominent. Better ground should suit as well, so not without hope at 33's. MT changes headgear today and needs to be ridden with a bit more restraint. Chance at 50's if able to settle mid pack.

4.55 Punchestown - TRUE SELF - One of many Mullins runners, but a rare won in that she has not really progressed through the season. Was in the process of running a nice race when falling last time and must have a squeak off just 9 - 12.

5.40 Yarmouth - EYE BURNER - Gelded since last run and dons the visor for the first time today. Plenty to prove on handicap debut, but just got a hunch this one will run better today at 40's.

7.05 Brighton - MARAAKIB and GOODBYE LULU - Maraakib needs to re - find his best form, but leading chance if able to do so at 20's. GL need to improve for the first time blinkers, but not without hope at 40's
 
11.35 Vaal - Going with 3 outsiders in the opener -

WALTZ WITH ME ( Nicely bred newcomer and the jockey does well for this stable. Fair EW shout at 40's )
DREAM CATCHER ( Nicely drawn for debut and well enough bred to draw interest at 50's )
JET IN STYLE ( Well supported 5/1 shot on debut, but fly - jumped the start and never got in the race. Vastly different price today at 66's and just could not resist at those odds )
 
3.05 Vaal - FRONT RANK - Not been at it for a while now, but drops to a mark of 59 today. Can only be hopeful at this point, but does have a good draw and has one of the better jockeys booked, so don't mind taking the chance at 33's.
 
4.10 Vaal - BLUESTAR BRIDGE and SECRET ISLAND - BB is better than last time suggests at 25's and SI is down to a nice looking mark and not sure anything should be 40's in a maiden handicap.
 
TRUE SELF a well backed winner ( 25's available early, opened 16's won at 12's )
PERISHING MISSILE was 2nd, but the NR's made it pretty worthless
FRONT RANK only beaten a head in 2nd
GOTHIC EMPIRE an annoying 4th
ISLAY MIST showed enough on debut and looks to have a future.
 
Wednesday 25th April

12.10 Kenilworth - PRINCE JOSH - Drifter on debut and made a bit of a mess of the start. Ran a bit green as well, so no disgrace getting beat 9 Lengths. Certainly bred to do much better and does looks a potential improver.
 
Poor start, but also playing in HK -

12.45 Happy Valley - ADONIS - Much a improved ladt time and hopefully can produce again at 12's. Has a decent draw in 5 and the useful Matt Chadwick booked.
 
1.45 Happy Valley - ALL YOU KNOW - Not fully exposed after just the six starts and recent efforts all pretty good. Dougie Whyte keeps the ride and they have bagged a good draw in 3, so not really sure why this one is available at 20's.

2.45 Happy Valley - AFTER ME and VERY RICH MAN - AM's Hong Kong debut this month was a satisfactory effort, when spotted staying over C&D. Hopefully can improve for that at 10's. VRM scored twice last season ( once when fresh ) but has been campaigned lightly since and is back off a break today. Fair chance, if stripping fit at 12's.
