I've put a note on horsenap.com. I don't think it's a good idea to just take the first 11 idiots who turn up Swoops.

Some planning will need to be done, especially if there are to be specific categories.
 
ODM's right, Swoop, we need to have some kind of classification of the idiots. Although 2nd place is the best most of us can hope for in that particular classification.
 
Horses I think but I've put a call out on Horsenap so there may be two more horsey types who want to play.

I can't see any reason for a specific golf section. Why would that happen? You wouldn't have a separate snooker section would you?

2 week competition.
All prices to be taken from Bet365. No in-running bets.
100 Points for each team member per week.100 points can be gambled any way player sees fit. Minimum bet 5pnts, maximum bets 100pnts
Person with most profit at the end of the week gains 1 point for their team. Unused points are lost
Only 100 points to be gambled, winnings are not a bank
Week 1 is a free for all. Each player can bet on whatever sport they choose.
Week 2 will be specialised sports. Breakdown to be decided upon number of team members
 
I've already said about the golf on there. I've told them we can do between 11 & 15, exact number they're coming back to me.
Looks like we're talking starting a week tomorrow, they're running their thread for a few days then coming back to me with a skipper, tubbers favourite I reckon.
Did we allow correct scores? Minimum bet I've put in to keep it tidy.
I've yet to broach the dreaded arbing question yet :unsure

Thunder, if you are down as footie, which you would be, you'd have no need to bet on anything else unless you get desperate in the free for all week
 
What's the stuff about arbing? Wasn't the problem last time something to do with one of theirs (FlyingBolt?) copying his opponent (Kiko?)'s bet to guarantee he'd stay in front? Or did he bet on all possible outcomes of a match to guarantee a return of some description?

Actually, just realised what you were getting at there. I was referring to the snooker, not the golf.

If its 11, then 4 x footie, 4 x nags, 3 x other sports. If its 13, then 5,5,3, 15 then 6,5,4?

By the way, if you're thinking of using PMs for anything in this comp, remember it's a bit fucked at the moment for anyone on Firefox.
 
I'd suggest that there's a rule whereby nobody can put up the same bet as their opponent. First one to put the bet up on the thread get's it. The logic is, putting your bet up first can be seen as a disadvantage because it allows your opponent to bet tactically when he sees your points and prices, so everyone has the option to get the bet they want or hang back and risk their opponent lumping on Man United instead.
