Me too Slick , gutted

Cheers Punt , yeah real shame was one of the best on the card , although tbh theyre all good in their own way. I think now that the Saudis are running the show and with the money on offer i dont think anyone will be avoiding anyone for a while .. I wanted to see AJ / Fury back in the day not particularly fussed now gotta be honest

for anyone interested the live pre lims for the Last Crescendo card (Beterbiev vs Bivol) they're on DAZN You Tube

Well three bouts down and all of em ive called wrong :embarassed no complaints , all been good fights so far and as i said in all the write ups they were all , for me anyway , 50/50 fights and i picked the wrong side

Sheeraz was disappointing gotta say and only managed a draw

Parker dropped Bakole and fight was stopped ..

now the big un

Well that was a night to forget , selection wise .. not one right .. but i enjoyed the boxing and thats the main thing. Bivol deserved the win gotta say and as i said in the write ups the bouts were proper 50/50 .. i just chose the wrong 50 :lol

Monday 24th February - Junto Nakatani vs David Cuellar

Well one of the top two Japanese boxers Junto Nakatani (29 Fights - 29 Wins (22 KOs)) puts his WBC belt on the line when he meets the unbeaten Mexican David Cuellar (28 Fights - 28 Wins (18 KOs)). On paper it looks a decent contest , and as a Mexican i expect Cuellar to come here to fight. But someones '0' has gotta go and to be honest im firmly expecting it to be Cuellars'. Cuellar has never fought outside of his native Mexico , and looking through his record this is a big step up in class as hes never fought someone of Nakatani's calibre imo. He has a height and reach advantage over Nakatani and is four years younger than the Japanese fighter but for me thats where the plus's end .. Nakatani has a lot more experience of fighting higher quality opponents and i think from what ive seen hes the better boxer , and being a southpaw could well bring its own problems for Cuellar , altho im not sure how hes dealt with them in the past or if indeed hes even fought any. Nakatani is patient and calculating and waits until the opportunity presents itself before he unleashes his bombs , hes also adept at laying traps and enticing his opponents in .. and when he smells blood its usually game over tbh , as i say Cuellar has never fought someone on Nakatanis level before and whilst i expect him to bring it i think hes gonna ultimately fall short .. i see Nakatani being too experienced and too good for the Mexican.

Junto Nakatani To Win

Saturday 1st March - Gervonta Davis vs Lamont Roach

Cant get enthused about this one at all if im being honest , for me Tank Davis (30 Fights - 30 Wins (28 KOs)) should be fighting higher quality opponents than Roach (27 Fights - 25 Wins (10 KOs) - 1 Loss - 1 Draw) , no disrespect to Roach who is a decent operator but i honestly cant see him posing any sort of threat to Davis here. Hes going up in weight and he doesnt have the kind of power to make Davis respect him , hes a skilful enough boxer but against someone like Davis he'll need the power and for me , from what ive seen he doesnt have it. Davis has muted retiring after a couple more fights , so i would like to see him against some proper opposition who'll take him out of his comfort zone before (if) he does , but i cant see that with Roach unfortunatley. I think Roach will do well for a few rounds before Davis figures him out and stops him.

Friday 7th March -

Natasha Jonas vs Lauren Price

Excited for this unification bout as it should be a good fight imho , two of the best female British boxers out there as far as im concerned. Jonas (19 Fights - 16 Wins (9 KOs) - 2 Losses - 1 Draw) beat the Croatian Ivana Habazin last time by unanimous decision , and looked pretty comfortable in doing so , before that she beat Mikaela Mayer by split decision in what was a close fight imho that could of gone either way .. shes been in with better opposition in the pros than Price , as you'd expect having a longer career , and has won multiple belts and she had a decent amateur career as well , whilst Price (8 Fights - 8 Wins (2 KOs)) had a glittering amateur career winning gold at the 2020 Olympics , along with golds at the World Championships , Commonwealth games , and European games along with numerous other titles and medals , turned pro in 2022 (Jonas in 2017) and hasnt looked back since , she won the British Welterweight title in only her fourth fight beating the decent Kirsty Bavington and then beat Jessica McCaskill in her seventh bout to take the WBA , IBO and Ring female welterweight titles , thats some going in only seven fights i have to say. Shes more known for her boxing skills but did put Jonas et al on notice that she can bang when stopping Bexcy Mateus in the third round in her last fight , back in December on the same card as Jonas. Both have good skillsets , as i say they're two of the best British boxers out there at the moment , and i think we're in for a good solid fight. Jonas' experience will hold her in good stead it has to be said , and in some respects it might give her an edge having been there and done it before , but on the flip side you have Prices youth (Price is ten years younger than Jonas) and raw talent. Jonas is wily and calculated whilst Price is more aggressive and composed , there seems to be no urgency about Price she just seems ultra confident in her ability in the ring , theyre both south paws but Price has a good height and reach advantage here which i think she'll be capable of using to her advantage , shes a fast starter as well which always helps in these two minute (x 10) rounds. I like both fighters but for me i can see a changing of the guard here with Price coming out on top , probably by decision but i wouldnt rule out a stoppage.

Lauren Price To Win

Caroline Dubois vs Bo Mi Re Shin
Big fan of Caroline Dubois (11 Fights - 10 Wins (5 KOs) - 1 Draw) i have to say and looking forward to this one , specially after her last fight back in January where she was all over her opponent Canadian Jessica Camara when the fight was called a technical draw after an accidental clash of heads which resulted in a cut to Camaras' eye. As i said Dubois was fully in control of the fight up to that point and i honestly saw a stoppage coming further down the line , her opponent is the hard hitting South Korean Bo Mi Re Shin (23 Fights - 18 Wins (10 KOs) - 2 Losses - 3 Draws) who arrives looking for her fourth straight victory , but i honestly cant see her getting it here. Shes not a bad boxer and like i said earlier she does have a bit of pop in her shots but looking through her record she hasnt faced anyone of Dubois' calibre , the nearest for me would be Delfine Persoon a couple of years ago who beat her by split decision. Theres always a chance that Shin could catch Dubois but i dont see it and i basically see Dubois being too slick and too good for her , controlling the fight early on and i think theres a good chance she stops the South Korean despite the fact that so far her chins held up well.

Caroline Dubois To Win

Harlem Eubank vs Tyrone McKenna
Interesting fight this one i reckon , and its on channel 5 for those that are interested , Eubank (20 Fights - 20 Wins (8 KOs)) comes into this unbeaten but in all honesty hasnt looked that good recently to me , a bit laboured at times and though McKenna (30 Fights - 24 Wins (7 KOs) - 5 Losses - 1 Draw) is now getting on a bit he always gives his all in his fights and im hoping that that attitude energises Eubank to put in a dominant display , we shall see. Eubank beat Nurali Erdogan last time , bit of a scrappy contest with point deductions for both and a clash of heads in the seventh that resulted in a cut eye for Eubanks , he won it comfortably but i just feel he could of been doing more at times , he stopped both opponents in his two fights prior to this but in all honesty still failed to impress tbh. McKenna stopped Dylan Moran in the second round last time , an impressive display especially coming on the back of two successive defeats , firstly a decision loss to Lewis Crocker and then a stoppage loss to Mohammed Mimoune .. as i said at the start he always gives his all , a wear your heart on your sleeve type of fighter and unless Eubank can stop him hes gonna have to work hard for his win and to keep his unbeaten record. I think Eubank will come away with the win , but i think it'll probably come via a decision rather than by stoppage although he has the skill and the power to stop McKenna.

Saturday 19th April - Gabriela Fundora vs Marilyn Badillo Amaya

Gabriela Fundora (16 Fights - 15 Wins (7 KOs) - 1 No Contest) is one of my favourite female boxers and she defends her undisputed flyweight title for the first time against the unbeaten Mexican Marilyn Badillo (20 Fights - 19 Wins (3 KOs) - 1 Draw) and im looking forward to it as Fundora brings excitement to the ring every time , and definatley has a fan friendly style. Fundora is tall for a flyweight (just like her brother WBO/WBC champ Sebastian whose 6 foot 6 and very tall for a Light Middleweight) , and she brings a viciousness you rarely see in the female side of the game if im being honest , shes a southpaw , uses her height and reach well and like i say throws with intent. Badillo is gonna come to fight but i think shes a level or two below Fundora , and if she cant hurt Fundora then i think shes gonna be in for a very long night .. As i say shes unbeaten (except for the draw) but when you look at the quality of opposition then she should be beating them , her last three opponents have records of 6 wins - 9 losses , 10 wins - 4 losses and 10 wins - 11 losses .. so hardly in Fundoras league lets be honest. I dont think shes been dropped yet so fair to assume she has a decent chin but then she hasnt been in the ring with anyone like Fundora .. I really have a hard job seeing past Fundora in this one i have to say , i think Badillo will be game but i feel that Fundora will be too much for her and will finally stop her to retain the titles.

Sunday 20th April - Liam Cameron vs Ben Whittaker 2

Well this one definatley needed resolving after their first fight so here we are .. first one was a draw but i had Cameron (31 Fights - 23 Wins (10 KOs) - 6 Losses - 1 Draw - 1 No Contest) winning when it was called , the way they both went out the ring was unreal ive never seen anything like it , and like i say Cameron was walking through Whittaker (9 Fights - 8 Wins (5 KOs) - 1 Draw) when the fight was called and i had him up at that point so i think he can feel a bit aggrieved at that decision. As i said in the previous write up i think Whittaker is skillful but seems to lack pop in his shots , and so it panned out , his shots never affected Cameron at all , and to me it just seemed as though he didnt wanna be there. Cameron was really the first 'live' opponent that Whittaker had faced for me (no disrespect to his other opponents) , and though his skillset was evident , so was his lack of power and at times heart. Hes definatley gotta up his game and change his strategy in this one , Cameron could well have his number and that first fight will definatley have boosted his confidence imho.I thought Whittaker would win the first one , and tbh i think hes gonna probably win this one if he boxes from the outside because as ive said hes slick and has a solid skillset and Cameron will find it hard to tag him cleanly if hes on his game but thats the question is he gonna be at the to of his game as in the first i think he was looking past Cameron and thats always a mistake. Ben Whittaker has been hyped as the next best thing , and like ive said he has the skills he now has to prove he has the dog in him to see it through in the tougher fights and i dont know the answer to that one if im being honest. I really want Cameron to win this one as he deserves it but i can see him getting outpointed if the fight goes the distance , however if he can drag Whittaker into deep waters the outcome could be very different , hard one to call as my head says Whittaker but my heart says Cameron , and im gonna go with my heart

Liam Cameron To Win

Cameron vs Whittaker undercard - my thoughts on them ..

Lee Cutler vs Sam Egginton .. should be a real exciting fight , lets face it Eggington gives 100% every time and i cant think of one bout hes been involved in that werent worth watching. Cutler is coming in off a fine win over Stephen McKenna , and like Eggington will come to fight .. I always root for Eggington i have to admit but i do slightly favour Cutler in this one.

Frazer Clarke vs Ebeneezer Tetteh .. First fight for Clarke after his first round defeat to Fabio Wardley , will be interesting to see how he fares tbh as that was a knockout and a half. In all fairness this should be an easy assignment and nice fight to get back into it as Tetteh is mediocre at best tbh , lost to Dillian Whyte last time and i envisage another loss for the Ghananian.

Tyler Denny vs Elvis Ahorgah .. Denny is coming off his loss to Hamzah Sheeraz and im expecting him to make amends here , been operating on a higher level than Ahorgah and although he'll come to fight im expecting that Denny comes through this test.

Bradley Goldsmith vs Troy Coleman .. for the Midlands Area Title , should be a decent fight , favouring the unbeaten Cov fighter Goldmith in this one but i wouldnt dismiss Colemans chances
