Cheltenham 2020

Not much talk around the Champion Hurdle tomorrow. This is as low key as i've ever seen it.

Nigel Twiston Davies has always taken the race seriously and i think BALLYANDY could be some great each way value @ 22/1

His festival form in 2016, 2017 and 2019 is quite/very good (didn't run there in 2018). I wouldn't be surprised to see him go off at half those odds tomorrow.

I've narrowed it down to just a dozen in the first race. Driving me mad. Broke my normal common sense rule and had a load of antepost bets, very few of which have put me in a better position than if I'd not bothered but one of them is Asterion Forlonge and that was only a tiny bit better at 7/2. I've got off to a flyer with this race at some previous meetings (non more so than the donkey that wouldn't start that went and hosed up at 40/1 or something) but I'm struggling to find a decent ew shout. I will definitely have more than one bet in the race (as with most of the races) and I'll probably have to stick with Abracadabras or Fiddler on the Roof, neither of which are very inspiring.

Esprit du large in the second race. Only one selection in that one.

250 I have Who Dares Wins antepost . I'll probably add No Comment in the morning

330 Supersundae one I've heard too many negative comments about (backed at 14/1 and 12/1 antepost) but there is money for it tonight so I'm happy with that one at least and I have a decent back and lay bet on Cornerstone Lad

410 We all know that anything can happen in this game but Benie Des Deux will probably have to fall over to lose this one. Pity about the price but my two "bankers" of the week would be this one and A plus tard in the Ryanair on Thursday (currently 2/1). Not that I'll be lumping on anything this week - playing for an interest only and I wouldn't normally touch an odds-on shot at the festival but......

450 Espoir De Geye I have ended up with a decent price for, albeit with fewer places than I could now get and I'm intending to back Lord Schnitzel tomorrow when it's finished drifting (don't ask)

530 I think Carefully Selected was probably the first antepost bet I put on and (again, don't ask because I can't even remember why) Some can Dance which is currently 200/1. I think I'm going to back Ravenhill. There are some recognisable amateur jockeys in this race but I doubt that many of them will have had as many winners at the festival as JJ Codd and I'll probably have a little bit on all three of his rides this week.

Rachel Blackmore for top jockey anyone? 5/1 this morning

1.30 - ALLART at 25's and SOVIET PIMPERNEL at a drifting 50's

2.10 - ESPERIT DU LARGE - Can see Evan Williams having a good festival, so following ODM with this one at 12's

2.50 - VIVAS - Overnight rain did not help and now as big as 150's. Able to go down to 8 places and still get a price.

3.30 - SILVER STREAK - Another Evan Williams runner and course form pretty decent, so happy going EW at 25's. Punt's BALLYANDY, could as he stated prove decent value at 20's, as the horse seldom runs a bad race and on this ground, always handy to have one that stays further.

5.30 - FORZA MILAN at 11's and ANTEROS at 150's - FM a live chance and Anteros likely to run his race.

William Hills are paying the first 7 places in the 1.30.

With the 3 odds boosts they give you daily, i've had a stab at landing some place money..

Soviet Pimpernel @Guaranteed Price (34.00)

Mario De Pail @Guaranteed Price (93.00)

Heaven Help Us @Guaranteed Price (93.00)
