FIFA World Cup round of 16 betting 28th June-1st July

Greece have to be favs here in extra time. 10 points at 2.3 on betfair for them to win

Taken France v Nigeria, although at 4/9 it's for interest rather than serious. France have more firepower going forward, and I can't see Nigeria holding out, while I can't necessarily see Nigeria troubling the French defence so much. It's not a sure bet (what is?) as Nigeria have had their moments in the competition.

I know I've said this regularly about short priced favourites this World Cup, but I can't see the Germans failing against Algeria, so I've taken them at 1/3. The Germans have so much movement and so many options going forward, I can't see Algeria holding them out for 90 minutes. I also reckon the Germans' defence should be capable of holding its own.

I'd agree. I had this marked as the biggest cert of the tourney so far - shows what we know mate. 40 minutes gone and Algeria are on top:grr

What a cracking double save that was. Of course I've got Kroos to bloody score haven't I

Playing very well the Algies and like you say what a cracking double save.
I expect Germany to get a rollicking at half time and come out a different team but hats off the Algerians for that first half effort, just pity they couldn't have nicked a goal to get the Germans panicking and upping their effort.

Great game just a pity the Algerians couldn't pick out a another pass like that in the previous 120 mins, whats happened to the extra time too, no matter what happpens in ET I've noticed the refs blowing right on time.

I back for Germany this year but i must admit they played veeeeery bad, Algerians were good

After the disappointment of backing Germany, I'm on USA/draw at just under evens. The States look weaker on paper, but Belgium haven't yet lived up to the (my, anyway) pre-tournament hype of dark horses, although there are signs things are coming together for them. The States seem to have a great team spirit and make up in effort what they lack in strength. With Belgium finding it hard to create, I think the States might push them all the way.

Also in Unibert's over 2.5 for the Argentina/Switzerland game. Switzerland have been inconsistent this tournament - they've looked okay apart from the France game, where they were shambolic - but they do look okay going forward, and if their defence decides to be porus, this should come in. And Argentina have Messi.
