45 mins after the Spanish game ends we had a potential bet over in Belgium where ANDERLECHT take on MECHELEN.

MECHELEN are 15th and have an away record of 1-4-7 , the sole win coming agaisnt the side one place above them in 14th.

Other Stats/ News - ANDERLECHT have been finding the back of the net at home since the Winter break , scoring 10 while conceding only 2 in 2 Cup and 2 League games .
One of those 4 games ended 0-0 but i look at the stats reveal that they had 12 goal attempts , 5 of which were on target but were saved by the keeper.
ANDERLECHT do have the distraction of a Europa League game on Thursday but that is at least a home fixture so hopefully they will field as near a full strength side tomorrow.

Saturday's first bet is the clash between SCHALKE and WERDER BREMEN in the Bundesliga

League form - SCHALKE are in 4th and just 2pts behind automatic qualification for the CL .

Other news / stats - SCHALKE still have Huntelaar suspended for this match . SCHALKE regained some respect despite losing 2-0 to REAL MADRID in the CL mid-week match after their 6-1 loss last season the European Champions.
SCHALKE have lost only once to Bremen in the last 12 corresponding meetings [9-2-1] in ALL comps.
They are unbeaten in 11 of their last 12 homes in the league and have been winning H/T - F/T in 7 of their last 9 home league games.

WERDER BREMEN are on a good run of 4 straight wins after the winter break but 3 of those came at home , the one win came against HOFFENHEIM who lost 3 of their 4 after the break .

Despite the obvious loss of Huntelaar i'm hoping SCHALKE can go on from their respectable performance against REAL and continue their good home form against a WERDER side who , on paper , have improved since appointing their new manager and the return to fitness of Franco Di Santo but have yet to win against a side from the top 6 .

I'm sticking my 'safety first' policy and going for SCHALKE at 0 , -0.5 on the Asian Handicap with Betvictor @ 1.80 [which means if it's a draw we get half our stake back] .



Just over an hour after the above game ends we have MAN CITY v NEWCASTLE

League form - CITY are currently 2nd in the EPL with a home record of 7-3-2 while NEWCASTLE are 11th with an away record of 3-4-6

Other news/ stats - The best news for CITY is that YAYA TOURE will start his first game after his return from the African Cup of Nations along with new signing W BONY .
It's significant that the 2 draws and 2 loss's [1 league and 1 Cup v Arsenal] came when Toure was missing.
Only James Milner is missing through injury.

NEWCASTLE on the other hand have a growing injury list with TIOTE definately out and the impressive CABELLA doubtful .

Quite simply MAN CITY should win and stake any returns from the SCHALKE onto the home win , currently 1.30

ABERDEEN are in 2nd and are a respectable 9-1-3 away from home.

Other stats/news - Anyone with the slightest knowledge of Scottish football will be aware that there is a rather large gap in class/ability between CELTIC and the others in any 'normal' season and it usually pays to ignore what the opposition have achieved in the season as playing at Parkhead is a different kettle of fish compared to any other team in the SPL .

Quite simply , due to the outstanding H2H record , this is a game i look forward to betting on every season and i see no reason to change , CELTIC should still be too strong for the Dons even after their exertions in Italy in mid-week .
The new signings from Dundee Utd [ Armstrong and Mackay-Steven] have strengthened the Glasgow side who have conceded only 6 times at home this season [12 games]

Bet 2 - Italy - INTER v FIORENTINA

Other news/stats - Both sides won their Europa league games in midweek .
On paper FIORENTINA's away record looks very good but on closer inspection we see that all 6 wins came against the sides currently occupying 12th , 15th , 16th , 17th , 18th and 19th in Serie A with the 3 away points coming at the 6th , 9th and 10th placed teams .

There's no arguing that INTER are not at their best but that impressive H2h and the quality of opposition FIORENTINA have won away from home against means i'm happy to take at least the Draw-No-Bet odds of 1.57 .

Stake the potential returns from the CELTIC match onto D-n-B of 1.57 , if no return from the Scots game it's 10pts @ 1.57.
