I Know The Score 2015/16 - Free Entry

There's an asterisk at the side of the badge option but nowhere does it explain what the asterisk is for. Shoddy.

Anyway, I've changed it now Slick.:thumb

Fucked if I know. I certainly didn't select a badge. Wonder if they were my banker team at some early stage and thereby allocated automatically. It appears that everyone has one and I can't imagine that not everybody can be arsed enough to select one themselves.

Not so my friend - you must have deliberately chosen that badge at some stage.
The good news is that you can change it for another football league badge - for instance Arsenal is a very good one (probably the best, nay not probably but definitely the best)

What is good news for the Malvern League is that everybody remains involved in the game. I did a quick check on the Boxing Day fixtures and am pretty sure nobody had failed to enter their forecasts. However read my email to my TalkSport contact and his reply.
Interesting!

Hi John,

I know we have exchanged emails on the subject of IKTS computer scores but the Boxing Day computer scores are out of this world.

I don't know the average score for the day, which was a full fixture list, but I suspect it was on the low side. But the IKTS computer gave those who failed to enter any forecasts the massive score of 90 (ninety) points: a full 25 points better than the best in The Golden Parrot.

I did a check on all the other mini-leagues that I'm in and I play against roughly 87 other players. Of these only ten players managed a score of 90 points or more.

To give players a computer score of 90 points in a low scoring week is frankly ridiculous. Both these Golden Parrot players are now near top of table, which I guess will annoy other players who bothered to enter their forecasts. IKTS is after all a competitive game.

I know that you've stated that how these scores are arrived at is confidential but for the life of me I don't know why. The easiest and most straight forward method is use the most popular forecast for every game as that for a computer forecast. I bet if you did that it would be more in the region of 10-20 points.

Yours in exasperation

TomCat

John's reply:

Hi Tom,

The automatic predictions are generated from a very simple set of rules that take the teams’ recent performance into account. I understand your exasperation but these rules are applied consistently every week to all players and some weeks they work out better than manual predictions, but usually they don’t.

John

I'm sure you've probably explained this at some stage, Newman, but I can't remember the answer now - why exactly do they automatically assign predictions to people who haven't entered anything? Why don't they just score 0?

I don't know why Predictor give computer scores - no other fantasy game does. I think possible its because the programme has a lot of input from computer geeks who like that sort of challenge.
I'm like you, no forecasts should mean no points. [Forgetting that I got another minus score again this week]

I'd give them -10 points for every match they don't enter because even assigning them 0 points could prove an advantage some weeks.

Nice one ODM, there was already enough Rag shit in that column.

I like the way Bonehead managed to score -60 and actually goes up 2 places :lol

Chelsea have scuppered nearly everyone's bonus there. The weekend's fixtures don't look much easier, mind you.

I'm afraid you're mistaken my friend. Out of all the badges on the planet, it is the second to last one that I'd choose I can assure you.

So hope yet that you might become an Arsenal supporter - much better than Man U-fecking-nited.

Bloody stupid game. I've had a minus score for each of the past seven gameweeks. That wouldn't be so bad but they've all woeful less than the average score.
Don't know whether to shoot myself or sit in a darkened room till season end.

Look on the bright side Newman, you outscored 2 of the top 3
