Only Football & Horses

Missed the first horse, but on the other 3. Already with ENJOY D'ALLEN in the 4.30, but adding yours along with FORZA MILAN for the FC / TC.

Cheers Howson. It started well with two wins but two back to back losses since have dented their chances a bit.
I'm hoping Pearson can get the best out of them, he doesn't mess about, after quickly going 2-0 down he subbed three players on 23, 31 and 37 minutes yesterday :eek
I still think they'll do it.

Great result today Punt, 3 wins out of 3 under Pearson away from home - into 11/8 now for top half finish

Yes, great result. 11/8 still value imo.

I actually backed them just before the off on the handicap, minus 1 @ 9/1, minus 2 @ 33/1 and minus 3 @ 125/1.
Only 80p stakes but i was glued to the text hoping for a fourth in the final 14 minutes.
It wasn't to be but i'm more than happy with the 3 pts.

One has come up in my tracker at a price

Wolves 5.30 FORZA DEL DESTINO each way @ 22/1

I put this one in my tracker because it was a surprise to see J.Gallagher send a first time out horse all the way to Newcastle, his only runner he took there.
Ran well for 5 furlongs but faded in the last. Then went to York over 5f in a class 3 but didnt stand a chance and finished last.

Back over 6F tomorrow evening and back in a class 5, should run much better here.

Again his only runner and Hollie Doyle in the saddle.

With you on this one Punt and added BULLET TOOTH TONY for the forecast at 40's. Have backed it on both starts to date so might as well go again.

Will join you with an e.w bet and a small RFC then Samoan :thumb

Better from Bullet Tooth Tony and with the drift to 100's at one point, ( returned 66's ), was able to go with the extra place, so surprised that it came home 4th. Not a massive price on debut ( 14's ) and then possibly unsuited by the fibresand, so at least this confirms that the ability is there. Could be one for the trackers.

Apologies. My tracker was managed by Joe Hart's social media team and they have since been sacked.

No much doing in the uk fixture list this weekend but Hereford have a big game and i've been invited to watch a live stream of it, at a closed pub. A bit naughty i know, but i'm sure social distancing will be adhered to.

We're not like Kiddie Harriers fans, who'd be licking, biting, kissing, groping and fingering each other whenever they score.

Anyway It's the FA Trophy semi final, Hereford are the underdogs, Woking a league above, the favourites.
Although Hereford are the underdogs, bookies have priced this only just in favour of Woking and in my opinion have been a bit tight on Hereford @ 2.8. I think they should be 3.25 minimum.

But it is a big game for Hereford and they have no other football other than this. They were just bringing in a decent player or two and were starting to put together a decent enough unbeaten run in the league before it was all called off.
A decent away draw and win on penalties at Aldershot saw us through to the semi. They are four points ahead of Woking, so similar fight and hunger to that and we've got a chance at home.

Really poor odds, but i've had a bet anyway..

Hereford £13.80 @ 2.8
Hereford & BTTS £6.20 @ 5

Hereford legend Dixie McNeil has backed the Bulls to beat Woking in Saturday's FA Trophy Semi Final tie and reach Wembley, WRITES MARK RYAN.

McNeil, who couldn't stop scoring for Hereford in the mid-1970s, knows Woking from his recent involvement with Wrexham.

"Hereford can do it!" he said.

"I've seen a bit of Woking and they don't have any outstanding players. They may be in a higher division but there are no great teams in that division. Woking don't stick out.

"Hereford can do this, they can beat Woking and I would love to see them get to Wembley again.
I'll be keeping an eye on the match on Saturday, Hereford is always the first score I look out for.
Hereford is where I had most of my success. What time's kick-off?"

The enthusiasm for Hereford is still there in McNeil's voice, even though he was recently courted by the Hollywood superstars rebuilding Wrexham.
"I told them I would cooperate if they give me a part in a cowboy movie!" he joked.

However, no club has ever meant more to McNeil than the Bulls having scored an incredible 85 goals in 129 appearances for Hereford United.
He was top scorer in all four English divisions for two successive seasons, with his goals taking Hereford all the way to the old Division Two (now the Championship). McNeil bagged 34 goals in 40 games as the Bulls lifted the old Third Division title in 1976, with England international Terry Paine providing the ammunition.

Hereford only stayed one season in the second tier of English football, but McNeil wasn't kept quiet, even up there.
"I scored 19 goals," he recalled.
"I always made it a target to score at least 20, so I fell one short. I hit the crossbar at Fulham, where George Best was playing his first game back from America. We got a bit distracted by his girlfriend in the warm up, she was wearing tight shorts and high heels and walking around the touchline taking photos."

Now 74, McNeil's memories are still crystal clear. He wished Terry Paine a happy 82nd birthday online earlier this week, saying that they won't forget the Edgar Street good times.
In those days, 10,000 was an average crowd at Edgar Street and 14,000 wasn't unheard of.
It'll be a bit different on Saturday.
"No fans at Hereford for the big game? What a shame!" McNeil said.
"I really want to wish the lads luck. Woking are nothing to be scared of, Hereford have a good chance."

Great call on Hereford Punt, I agree about the bookies being tight on the price. Hereford havent played a competitive game since the Aldershot game, so 2.8 wasnt great odds against a team from a higher league and playing competitive football once or twice a week.

What do you think about Bristol City for top half finish now? Im thinking of cashing out my bet on them finishing in top half, that Rotherham result has been a proper reality check

I'm probably having my worst year in 35 yrs so i'll leave that call up to you lol. I still think they will finish top half and next season if fans are back they will become a Premier League team, even if it's just for one season. They've just been, not miss managed but not managed well enough. They have the players there.

Today was brilliant, i drank beer and smoked fags in a pub like it was June 2007. Only 5 of us.

Hereford FC are at Wembley for the 2nd time in 5 yrs. Hoping win can win there this time.

I put these on last night so prices have changed since then, one has shortened the other three are slight drifters.

All are owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum and three are ridden and trained by C.Hayes and K.Pendergast, who i think will have a better season than expected.

2.10 Monassib @ 9/2

3.15 Mudlahim @ 17/2

Mehneh needs more according to the RP but i think she's massive e.w value @ 15/1

Fella's, chaps, jockeys, jokers and jesters...

I've decided to give up online gambling.

I decided back in January, that for quite a few reasons, it's time for a change and that i will stop online gambling at the end of the football season.

Not because in the last couple of years i've become a really shit gambler (as to previous where i was just a really bad one), but for mostly other reasons. I'm losing the love of it.

One of the main reasons i'm giving it up, i've been inspired by a couple of blokes that i worked with.
Simon, a friend i've known for many years, who's never gambled, told me in January that he was leaving the company in March, he'd put his notice in. When i asked him where he was going to work he told me he wasn't. He told me he was retiring. He retired at the end of March on his 62nd birthday.

Another friend, Neil, who is very similar to me, in that he has to have a bet every day, or several bets every day, is 68 years old, is still working and cant retire until he's 71 due to debts he acquired from the addiction of gambling.

I'm 55 next month, i reckon if i stop now i've got a chance of being retired by the age of 63, so that's my target.

After all the bills are paid, all my spare/fun money goes on gambling. I'm not in any trouble financially or anything, i just love the idea of retiring earlier than state pension age.

Obviously i've got to find something else to do, cause online gambling is all i do, do.
Well i'm shit with tools, cars, machinery and most other bloke things but i have found a love for plants in recent months.
For many years i've not been arsed with the back garden but i've been watching every gardening programme going since January and i've now got a fair size garden down to ground zero. In the next three years i hope to turn it into something to be proud of.
It's just me and the mrs now the youngest has left home and we both want to go down the route of not only making the garden tidy, but growing our own veg too. We're going full on, Barbara and Tom Good lol

I've also got my love for Hereford F.C back. VAR and Premier League football has become shit so i'm going to be going to Edgar St a couple of times a month for some grassroots football again. Maybe a few away games too.

A third thing i'm pondering the idea of too is twice a year, Worcester races. Just to prove i can have a small gamble for fun, providing you can still use cash on course. Though i'm not sure about this one yet. Dodgy, but we'll see.

Anyway, on with the shit show. I have £100 left to gamble, £25 per weekend before i close all my accounts on May 24th. Any returns i'll probably spunk midweek. Wish me luck, yeah.

Good luck in whatever you do Punt, we all go through these phases in life and I'll admit myself I don't gamble half as much as I used to.

I like to think I'm more responsible these days and haven't had a bet outside of Football 'for the sake of it' in a long while unless it's the Gold Cup or the National which is tradition.

In doing so no longer do I feel a hole burning in my pocket but have the odd bet now and again when I'm confident it'll come in, or use any bookies offer which puts me in a no lose situation.

It doesn't mean to say you can't still have the Craic on Betnod Punt, so long as you don't fcuk off for good I couldn't care less what you do:lol
