The next Liverpool Manager market is interesting, now that Alonso has said he's staying at Leverkusen.
Since Klopp announced his retirement this market has been of interest to me. The only two managers that have stood out for me,and they are not in the running, according to the betting.
I've had Alonso as most likely since the announcement but have yet to back him as he's always been very short priced in the market. I think i may start backing him now, for stakes back on my other selection, as i'm not totally convinced by his statement about staying at Bayer.
I'm not sure why Amorim and De Zerbi are so short priced, good managers but this would be a big step up for them and a risk for LFC
I can't rule out Pep Lijinders, but only if nothing gets finalised with anyone else.
FSG have been shrewd since taking over, they got a couple of things wrong but apologised immediately, no damage, but they have got a lot of things right too. They are major sports investors and have pretty solid form.
They've built up the profile of LFC and have made it more accessible globally. They have run the club well and proof is in the youngsters that we have coming through now.
How can you follow Klopp? I'm of the opinion that they'll want a proven manager, known on a global scale, to help keep the profile of the club up and to keep attracting the very best footballers as well as investors.
Zinedine Zidane fits the bill - 40/1 Paddy Power
I've been chucking bits and pieces from any weekend returns or any good betting days for a few weeks now, i've only got 14/1 & 28/1 but i've got a fair bit on.
I just dont think FSG will take any risks and will go all out for someone who hasn't managed a big club before.
Probably daft bets and no chance but it's Alonso or Zidane for me, out of the options available.
