10.45 Turffontein - MAGOGO - Took the early 10's on this one and whilst that may have been a mistake on bet365's behalf, he did open on course at 17/2 and is now down to 4's. Trainer / jockey combination solid and also bagged a good draw. Money for the FAV as well, who is now a shade of odds on from odds against.

Went off 7/2 and scraped home by the narrowest of margins. Thinking it might turn out to be a bit of a " hot " race as well, so might be worth noting CLOTH OF ICE who ran well on debut form a poor draw.

11.20 Turffontein - PUCKER UP - Not on this one, but 10's into 4's for a 16 race maiden certainly catches the eye.

Now a 17 race maiden. Not unusually for this type of horse, did fly home for 3rd. Will win one sometime, but unlikely to be a decent price.

10.35 Greyville - BHAKKA - Notebook horse of mine, so backed it last night before the prices came out. Surprised it opened 5's and even more surprised that it has been backed into 9/4. Looks a very tough race as well, so be interesting as to whether their confidence is mis-placed.

10.35 Greyville - Top 4 in the betting are all 9/2 or less, so might be a touch of value in COMMAND RESPECT who now looks too big at 33's.

Could not have gone any better, with BHAKKA winning and COMMAND RESPECT hanging on for 2nd. CR drifted to 40's before the off so the forecast should be OK.

11.10 Greyville - BOLD MOVE - Not my initial choice, but 33's into 14's warranted a closer look. Every chance based on the best of his 4 runs to date and has a claimer taking a very handy 9lbs off. Gone also with ALABAMA SLIDE at 6's, with my original pick of CONSOL QUEEN, now looking huge at 22's.

Garbage from the gamble. AS, did manage 2nd and CQ ( Despite drifting further ) ran well for an inevitable 4th.

11.20 Flamingo Park - CALLTOTHEBAR - Put up this one at 12's and went 9's and then quickly into 7's. MONTANA SKY was 66's and is now into 25's. Not much of a form chance, so money for it is interesting.

CALLTOTHE BAR ran well in 2nd. MS, strangely opened 50's on course and drifted to 100's. Ran OK in the end for 6th. One from the same owner / trainer combo did come 3rd at 100's.

11.20 Turffontein - CATCH TWENTYTWO - Early 20's with Bet365 long gone and now 9/2. Represents a decent stable, who can get one ready. Good young jockey booked as well for debut.

Briefly drifted out to 5/2, but quickly back into 2's. Money also in the race for RAISETHEREDLANTERN, from 33's into 14's. Hoping for a couple of red herrings however as with a lot of money around for these 2, another pair have drifted to value looking odds. Both are nicely bred Soft Falling Rain's and both represent leading stables, so going with HARLEQUIN JACK at 10's and DOMINO RULER at 40's.

Went off FAV and ran OK for a debutante, but the 2nd and 3rd Fav fought out the finish. Traded as low as 15/8 and as high as 11/4 on course and a bit of money did come late.

5.10 Navan - REPUTE - Nicely bred, trainer can get one ready and also held an entry for the Marble Hill ( Group 3 ) on Sunday. Missed the 25's, but got 20's and has been backed in the last half hour, down to 10's.

11.25 Greyville - MY SAVING GRACE - Gone with a different newcomer myself, but MSG opened 14's this Morning and is down to 11/2.
