Nice one Tom, you got a snipping tool! :)

I cant believe the Malvern league dropped 4 places with those scores :eek

An interesting stat that IKTS have added to the 'Game 5 Review'
The average score this week was 53 points, influenced by a respectable 42% of predictions being correct.
Only 42% played the Banker correctly.

In the mini-league The Golden Parrot, that I run, we went up 260 places - so eat your heart out.
Unfortunately we are now 738th, which I calculate is 637 places behind The Malvern League. :help
But of course The Golden Parrot has 12 players and not 30 which is the number of The Malvern League.

Bit of a mistake in their gameweek reviews this week:

"Finally, congratulations to our leaderdaniel_palmer on 580 points and also a special mention for this week's top scorerJames Parnell who scored 350."

Went to check out James Parnell's score, as I thought he must have at least 9 correct scores to score 350pts in one week. Turns out 350pts is his overall score, he was the highest scorer this week, but with 265pts.

Thanks Reggie for pointing that out. First time I read it, the figures went over my head.
However I forwarded your report onto my contact at IKTS and I'm pleased to say that the figures have been amended,

The IKTS Gameweek 6 review

With that I will add that it was an utterly depressing gameweek for the Malvern League. We dropped 56 places in the IKTS Championship just at a time when we were hoping to join the top 100 national mini-leagues.
Also I cannot remember another instance where a player became leader with a minus 35 point score (sorry Ben).
In fact, from the top it was the fourth placed player who actually managed a plus score. (Hope therefore for us lesser mortals)
Of the top 24 players, only 16 of us managed an above average score - some only just.

I'm surprised as many as 40% played their banker correctly. Man City and Liverpool were arguably the two most obvious picks, certainly the ones that wiped out most of the bankers in our league, and neither of them won.

What I think is amazing is that last week everybody in IKTS apparently did well and scored highly. The stats for that week were: "the average score this week was an acceptable 53 points, influenced by a respectable 42% of predictions being correct. Only 42% of you played your Banker correctly."
So just a 2% difference in both correct predictions and banker creates such a huge points swing.
I'm sure the computer stats are correct but it does make one wonder!

I'm not so sure the stats are correct, Newman. Looking back through this thread, there have been reviews posted from weeks 1, 2, 5 and 6, and in all four of those weeks, the percentage of correct predictions is identical to the percentage of bankers used correctly. Sounds like too much of a coincidence to me, I suspect it's another teething problem along the lines of last week when they mentioned the week's highest scorer, but then referred to his overall score rather than what he'd scored that week.

Thanks Reggie, you have put into words my thoughts exactly.
I was composing an email to my IKTS contact about these figures and will certainly add your views.
Cheers
Tom

Amended stats - and it shows only 3% placed our Bonus on a winning score.

Sorry guys, but I was a bit too quick off the mark with the above post. Here are the actual stats and they make a lot more sense.

Okay it's only Saturday's results and there are more games on Sunday and Monday BUT I post the league table because (I think) that it is the first time ever that it is topped by The Old TomCat.
Almost certainly will change by Monday night but in the meantime.....
