ODM's Pretty Young Things

The last lion a winner at 10/11 and Mailshot a non-runner so with either be less than a point down or a bit up dependent on Ice Slice.

Tomorrow:

150 Bev Muirsheen Durkin 5pt ew 5/1

225 Bev Liquid 10pt win 7/2

435 Haydock Manatee Bay 5pt ew 11/1

Ice Slice third but the non runner left only 7 so no returns from that one but Muirsheen Durkin won at 5/1 and Manatee Bay was third at 12/1. 30 pts returned 61.25.

Impassioned needs to go into the notebook being backed in from 12/1 to 11/4 second fav against a strong fav in the 635 race. Ran like a pig and finished last but somebody in the know thinks something of this horse.

455 Ayr Irish Optimism 5pt ew 9/1

805 Windsor Quebee 10pt win 5/2

Irish Optimism third at 10/1 and Quebee wins again. Profit of 30pts on the day

There was nothing for today but a few for tomorrow...

220 Catterick Decadent Times 7/4 10 win

240 Yarmouth Sandy Cove 5ew 7/1

550 Catterick Geno 10 win 11/4

Sandy Cove wins at 8/1 to return 58 points, a profit of 28pts on the day. Joe Doyle gave Geno a spaz of a ride setting off at the pace of a Ferrari and not even ending up in the first three.

240 Newmarket - Broken Stones opened up at 10/1 the night before its first race before romping home at 13/8, running most of the race at the back of the field before Spencer pushed it through the field. Was taken out of it's last race - not sure why. 12/1 at the moment 5pts ew.

315 Newmarket Big Orange. Plan is to back this with a 3pt win at 10/1 and put a lay in at 3/1 in case it leads and fades. Also to put a 3pt back in for 2 places on betfair or 3places if I can get over evens. Will update tomorrow.

There is nothing in the world as sure as the fact that Rural Celebration will run 3rd in the 300 race at Carlisle tomorrow if I back it each way because the bookies only pay out on 2 places. Might look at it in the 3place market on Betfair but other than that ...I'm out

For anyone who's interested, this is a good tool for finding out why your horse ran so badly. Just type in the date of your race and scroll down to see whether the stewards asked for an explanation. It may well determine whether you can forgive a bad run and whether or not you will follow a horse next time out.

Aye, it's a handy little website that :thumb

You'll probably find a large chunk of the explanations will simply be "because George Baker was on it" :p

Changed my mind about rural celebration and put 5 win at 9/2 and an as yet unmatched 3 place bet at About 10/11

Broken Stones 3rd returned a profit of 10pts
Big Orange won returning 33pts for the win and 6pts for the place minus 9pts for the lay= a profit of 24pts
Rural Celebration a loss of 10pts

Profit of 24pts on the day.

Well done mate, I too fancied Big Orange so thankfully I didn't put the mockers on it for you. Was given a peach of a ride by James McDonald from the front.

220 York Merry Banter 5ew 8/1. Only 2 places but I'm taking the bookie price cos it seems to be dropping

240 Newmarket Faraweeq 5pt ew 8/1

255 York Paddy Power 5pt ew 11/1

300 Ascot Nibras County 5pt ew 6/1

330 York Flyboy 5pt ew 10/1

335 Ascot Steve Rogers 5pt ew 6/1

440 Ascot Rio Ronaldo 2pt ew 14/1 (no BOG)

Big fields so anything could happen

64 pts staked, Faraweeq won returning 60 of them in one go and Steve Rogers returned another 12.5 to move us into a profit of 8.5 pts on the day with Rio Ronaldo due to run shortly (just going behind at the moment).

Happy with that given some of the field sizes

Well done again. And RIO only just failed to hit the frame in 5th, unlucky there.

200 Chester 10pt in on 11/10 fav

250 Newmarket Kreb's Cycle 2.5 pts ew 16/1

335 Chester 2.5 ew Shared Equity 16/1

410 Chester Herawi 5pt ew 9/2

435 Newmarket 1pt ew 33/1 Waady

445 Chester - going to stick with Squire again 2.5 ew 14/1

535 Ascot 1pt ew 25/1 Second Serve

630 Salisbury Jack Nevison 1pt ew 14/1

730 Salisbury Alnashama 5pt ew 9/1

535 Ascot 1pt ew 25/1 Second Serve

630 Salisbury Jack Nevison 1pt ew 14/1

730 Salisbury Alnashama 5pt ew 9/1

51 pts staked, Squire a non runner returning 5 of them. Alnashama won but I didn't put the fucking thing on until I was at the races and I was pissed by then so I don't know what the deductions were on the 9/1 price so I'll go with the SP of 9/2 and say it returned 37pts . Likewise Jack Nevison 2nd at 10/1 returning 15. Herawi moved from 9/2 to 9/4 and won. One non-runner and looking through my accounts this morning it appears that I didn't even back the fucking thing (stag day - long day at the races - early start- fucked up). I'm going to put that down as a return of 32.5 pts for the sake of this thread so a somewhat bodged return of 89.5.

Profit of 38.5pts on the day unless I've miscalculated through my hangover

325 Stratford Brotherly Company 11/4 10pt win

445 Perth Murtry's Delight 1pt ew 33/1
