ODM's Pretty Young Things

Only one again tomorrow, Sketch Book Venue 20 pts. Still 6/4 available with Ladbrokes

Non runner

150 Chester Big Time Maybe 10pt ew

655 Chelmsford Pepita 2.5pt ew 16/1

805 Bath Mori Yoshinari 10pt win 5/1 , will add 10pt 2 places on exchanges tomorrow

Two rubbish runs and a non runner - loss of 25 pts

and not looking too promising for tomorrow either

Mailshot has an impossible draw to overcome and the 16/1 price reflects that but 1pt ew anyway 300 chester

There are also plenty of negatives to stop Armandihan from winning the 310 catterick, not least the existence of a 1/2 fav. The horse horse has a dubious temperament and hung last time out. That said, I think it will win a race when ridden properly and everything falls into place - possibly at a big price. Tomorrow probably not the day though and a tentative 10pt just in case at 9/4

435 chester. Two in this race and a win from either wouldn't make me fall over with shock despite an open looking race. full Intention is 9/2 fav (10 pts) Krebs Cycle is 12/1 (5pts ew)

445 catterick. This looks to be the best of the selections tomorrow. Meshardal 10pt ew , 6/1 available with betfair but price looks to be shrinking

Amendment - for those who have a betfair account you can get 5/1 with FOUR places on the each way edge thingy - I'll go with that for what looks to be a bet to nothing and increase my stakes to 15pt ew.

62 pts staked. A massive gamble on Armandihan saw it backed in from 9/4 to 10/11 fav with the original 1/2 fav drifting to 5/4. Won returning 32.5 points. Didn't see the race so don't know how close Meshardal came to winning it but second place returns the 30pts to make it a pretty much break even day with 62pts returning 62.5.

150 Chester. The draw will make sure that Hillbilly Boy doesn't win but 1pt ew just in case. Ice Slice has a better draw and a better chance 2.5pts ew 10/1

215 Lingfield Janszoon would have won its maiden at 25/1 had it not been for a fine swooping run by Wasatch Range. 5/2 2nd fav tomorrow and worth a 10pt punt

245 Lingfield Apologies for the shit price but I'm taking anyway. To Wafij had a winning debut and looks to follow up tomorrow. Not everyone's idea of a bet at the price but 20pts at 4/7 (BOG) for me

300 Chester Tomily. I liked this horse's early profile and it's been placed in its last 6 starts (including one 5/1 win). Possibly too much of a trier for it's own good in terms of a handicap mark and tomorrow may not be its race but 5pt ew 13/2 anyway

405 Chester Desert Rain. Two second places out of two starts so far. Must have traded massively odds-on in running in its last race before getting beaten. 10/11 and 11/10 on its two losing runs and a bad draw to overcome tomorrow could see it get a hat trick of second places but 10pt win at 15/8

845 Ripon Odds on fav but this looks like a good each way bet to nothing just in case the fav underperforms so 10pts ew at 7/1 Hitchcock reflecting not my confidence in the horse, rather the value of its price in this particular market.

75pts staked

Jansoon wins at 11/4. Loss of 37.5 pts on the day making a running loss of 63.21 this season.

Tomorrow

155 Lingfield 2pt win 25/1 and place bet to be placed tomorrow

205 Nottingham Two in this race so 10pt win Stanhope 5/1 and a saver on Merlin 10pts evens (drifting)

230 Lingfield I like this bet as long as they keep 8 runners in the race 10pt ew Zamfir

350 Nottingham 1pt ew Rural Celebration 1pt ew 50/1 and Spring Fling 5pt ew 10/1

420 Haydock Waady 20pts 9/4

500 Nottingham Trade Route 5pt ew 16/1

510 Ascot Rio Ronaldo leaving the 6/1 and taking 5/1 with 5 places 10pts ew

520 Lingfield May Sky 15pts 11/4 (may increase stakes if there's support in the market after midday)

Left the name off the first one (again) Flight of Fantasy - came last losing 4 pts
205 Merlin won at evens so no loss on race
230 pulled up - loss of 20pts
420 loss of 20pts
510 nowhere losing 20pts
520 dead heated for 3rd loss of 15pts

Absolutely disastrous day losing 79pts

400 Wetherby Auspicion 1pt ew 20/1

440 Kempton Spader 20pts 15/8

550 Windsor Bush House 4pt ew 14/1 and Mori Yoshinari 2pt ew 22/1

650 Windsor 15pt win Gulliver 11/2 and 10pt win Time to Exceed 3/1 (drifting)

Spader is unlucky once again. Nailed on the line but the drama happened at the 2nd last. Just as it's moving into a position to challenge a horse blunders the 2nd last fence and gives Spader a fucking clatter. It didn't look like it put it off that much as it took it up but to see it getting nailed on the line - it's a case of what if !!!

A-fucking-gain. Will try to remember to increase the stakes on it next time out - it owes me:lol

What if also applies with Time to Exceed just being denied by a short head at 7/1. Small margins. A few inches between a profit on the day and a loss but a loss it is nevertheless.

Bush House was pulled out before the race for the second time running (or not running I suppose would be the better phrase). Will be interested to see what it actually does when they decide to run the thing. Gulliver and Auspicion also ran creditable races so, apart from the whining about the bad beat, not too much to be discouraged about. Just a matter of time

Only one for tomorrow, 720 Killarney 20pt 11/4 Magens Mood.

Just watched the race mate. Never mind - only 20pts at 8 to fucking 1. :grr

Running well - just need that change of fortune

140 yarmouth Jack Nevison . A bare look at the form figures doesn't inspire confidence but there are three reasons to be optimistic. Drop back to Maiden company, change of yard (which often works wonders) are cited in the sportinglife write up but tomorrow may well be the first time this horse runs on genuinely good ground (ran well early on on good (g-f in places). 15p pt win 4/1

350 Yarmouth Ross Raith Rover - i won't bore you with the write up but this ties in with a couple of other horses and may well do the business tomorrow . 15pts 4/1

435 york Orewa 2pt ew 20/1 and Harbour Grey 10pts 7/1

And a jumper to finish off with 905 Perth Way up in the sky 10pt ew 12/1

And there are your second place horses for tomorrow
