ODM's Pretty Young Things

For the second time running, KALK BAY should have won but once again the weakness in the finish of Harrison Shaw (7) meant he couldn't get the horse home. They really need to stick a stronger jockey on.

Good effort on first try at 6f, very surprised he had the pace for it mind.
 
Yesterday would have to go down as an unlucky one I think taking into account what Seen said about Kalk Bay possibly winning with a stronger jockey, Pepita coming third with two non runners restricting place payouts to two and Take Shelter being beaten into second. Still, unlucky doesn't put food on the table and it was a loss of 31pts on the day whichever way you dress it up.

For anyone who's interested (and I have mentioned this guy before in this thread) James Tate (the trainer of Take Shelter yesterday) has not been out of the first two places with his last seven runners - including three winners. Not within the scope of this thread but, for anyone who likes to back a trainer in form he has one runner today and two tomorrow:

Back to the subject in hand. A disappointing sole runner today that only from my 2014 tracker, Sandy Cove 145 Kempton 1pt ew 28/1
 
Leeshaan can go into the tracker. Ran a good race and would have got at least 2nd if not for almost running into the back of the horse in front close home. Wouldn't have caught the winner.

One tomorrow 520 yarmouth Osino 10pt win 3/1. Slowly away on its only start and up against a son of Frankel on its debut, ridden by Ryan Moore. What could possibly go wrong lol

Both backed in to 4/1. Second one won (edit - sorry it was actually backed into 3/1).

Tate has now had just one of his last 10 runners finish out of the places. He goes through snatches of form like this and it's a good idea to jump on his coattails while it lasts.

410 Lingfield Family Fortunes 10pts ew 6/1 (bet365 - rest are lower). Won at 25/1 on debut and followed up with another win on second start. Will see if trip suits tomorrow but may still be worth following if not.

640 Musselbro 5pt ew 5/1 (5pt win and 5pt on place market tomorrow) . Looked promising when going into the tracker last year but will need to show something tomorrow in order to stay in the book
