I don't really like backing one of two joint favs in a race because I don't see it as value to have what the bookies see as a 50/50 decision plus the rest of the field against me but I'm in that position for the 330 race at Thirsk tomorrow. Tamkeen 10pts 7/4. In the tracker from last year but other jt fv has the benefit of a run as well so I wouldn't be advising anyone to back this one.

405 Thirks Henley 5pt ew 11/1 Skybet. finished 2nd on the wrong side of the track at Ripon recently and tends to come into form at this time of the year.

340 Salisbury Flight of Fantasy . Progressive and this is her trip but a worry that the price is drifting. I will be backing tomorrow when I see what the price is with a 5pt win and 5pt for a place on Betfair (better place prices)

Tuesday. Wish I'd followed my instinct and gone for the insurance bet as Lady Alavesa came second giving away about five lengths by rearing in the stalls at the off. Will win soon but the problem is that she will now be on in a lot more people's tracker than just mine

No excuses for Fast Landing, although it did trade at odds on in running

Edit - Just checked my account and have been paid out on 4th place for Meshardal even though there were only 12 runners (Albeit with a rule 4). I've noticed a lot of that about just lately where bookies are offering extra places for less than 16 runners. I'll have to bear it in mind.

Example is the 335 at Newmarket tomorrow which has 14 runners but there are 7 bookies on oddschecker paying 1/5 4 places . Same with the 240 at Goodwood, including the one that I have my each way bet with.
