The Manchester City thread

It was widely reported last night Swoops - Not sure when the official announcement was.

oi! fuk off the city thread you cnuts!

we deserved it , just as manure deserved all theirs.
I'll tell you something I wasn't any more deliriously happy than I was after we beat Gillingham in '99.
Football aint about trophys and wembley , to say any other team has no history (other than MK Dons of course) is not to understand football. I am not better than any other fan in the country , that's where manure went wrong "not arrogant just better" that may have applied to the team but certainly not their fans.
We won the lottery and yes I do get a bit embarrassed when we sign these stars but then I think, as I did when Chelski bought the best, at least we are bringing them to the PL for everyone who loves football to enjoy.
Anyway , it's been emotional

Another thing, I pity people who don't like football, where else in life can you look into the abyss and then 2 minutes later be at the very pinnacle of ecstasy?

I'll tell you something I wasn't any more deliriously happy than I was after we beat Gillingham in '99...

That's exactly the point I was trying to make in my post earlier.

As for fucking off out of the City thread. You've got the same chance as they had of getting the fans off the pitch on Sunday so you can bollocks:lol

:lol @ODM
Fukc me if I ever am looking into the abyss when I gamble it's time to seek help!

Liverpool interviewing 4 candidates apparently, that's gonna unsettle folk , could be a very interesting summer indeed

Roberto Mancini has confirmed that England winger Adam Johnson was left out of Manchester City's squad to face Southampton in order to help him find a new club.
Johnson

made it clear earlier this week that he was not happy to sit on the bench at City, and he has been strongly linked with moves away from the club.

Liverpool,

Tottenham, Everton

and Sunderland

are among a host of clubs linked with the 25-year-old.

And Mancini admits he is now ready to let Johnson leave, with reports linking City with a move forSwansea City's

Scott Sinclair as a direct replacement.

"Adam is a young guy, he is a good player and he wants to play," said Mancini.
"In these 10 days, if we find a good solution for him and he can go to play, maybe it is better.
"I don't know about a loan. We have two or three situations. We are talking with him about this.
"But if he stays here I don't have a problem."

Looks like he's on his way to Sunderland according to this mornings reports.
He's a good player but a bit of a lazy bugger at times as he doesn't like tracking back plus he thinks he's a better player than he really is which is a pity because if he was willing to listen then he would get a lot more starts.

That was some Champions league draw once again for City wasn't it, Real Madrid, Ajax and Dortmund.
We may not get through but there should be some cracking matches ahead in this group stage rather than the usual drivel the group stages throw up.

Well with 17 games gone and United 6 points ahead I'm choosing now to declare that City will win the title. As I've said before my method is always to back United throughout the season and then lay and back again as the prices move. I always win with this method-always. The only way I can't win is if United never look like challenging and if that ever happens I will lose big time but given that they never finish out of the top three that's a risk I'm happy to take.

Here comes the change if plan for this year. I'm currently sitting with a profit on United and City but United are way way way too short at 1.61 and I'm laying ALL My United profit to make city my only winner. I will buy some back if United reach evens/ 11/10 which I'm banking on happening.

City are 9/4 and I'd advise anyone who's not already involved to take that price. For me, United"s price is based on reputation, the "fact" that they always have a stronger second half to the season and the way that they have impressively come back from being behind to win games. It would be more impressive if they didn't keep going behind and it's more of a negative for me. City are playing the better football and I would be surprised to see them going onto the new year with the gap down to 3 or 4 points

Just posting that so I don't lose it but I just want to add that my only concern is the form of David Silva. He is absolute class but he was half the player in the second half of last season compared to the first so they need to keep him fit and firing on all cylinders. Their epic failure in Europe will help on that front but, although I know it's difficult to leave out a player of his class, I think his form is the key to whether City or United win the league.

In a team full of stars I reckon even the likes of Hart, Tevez and Aguero will be staying in their seats when the City player of the season is announced and they clap either Silva or Ya Ya onto the stage.

City's first half against Newcastle was the best we have played all season, the tempo was there from the off and you could see they wanted to get the derby defeat out of the way. Nasri in particular looked like he had something to prove at long last. City could have gone in at the break 6-1 up.

In the second half Newcastle played a lot better, for the firat 20 mins after the break they were the better side and could have drawn level quite easily but after they ran out of steam and City scored their 3rd it was game over.

I'm mentioning that because without a little bit of lady luck we could have thrown the game away after having a blistering first 45 mins whereas usually we have a lot better 2nd half, that tells me some of City's basic problems are being addressed non more so that starting with Aguero and Tevez when it was apparent early on in the season they are our best attacking pair, it's took until now for Mancini to realise that and to stop fcuking about with the team sheet, trying to give his personal favourites a chance.

That has stemmed from the derby defeat because City can now ill afford any more slip up's, It will be interesting to see should we catch United up again whether he starts tinkering again.

Yaya is also out in January for the African nations cup, it was at that time last year we also hit a bad patch so that's another thing to keep in mind, if we hit that same bad patch again while he's gone then it's game over.

Lescott brought on as a striker , Mancinis days must be numbered with stuff like that

You would think so wouldn't you? I've said somewhere on here before that a better manager would have won the title last year well before the last week. He scraped the win with the last kick of the season and, since then, has suffered another embarrassing european campaign and his team lie nearer to West Brom in 6th place than they do to the league leaders.

As if his insistence on sticking with Balotelli (which cost him the last Manchester derby) wasn't enough, brain-dead decisions like this almost make it look as if he's looking for a holiday.

Get rid of the twat

Can't remember that Swoops and I'd be surprised if I stuck up for him other than to say he had a difficult job on his hands but i will apologies if that's the case. Can you find the thread?
