The Manchester City thread

Those photo's of the bust up between Balotelli & Mancini don't look good. It's going to be one of those things that a freeze frame looks far worse than a video but Mancini looks as though he shit himself :unsure

Looks to me like Mancini has hold of Mario's bib and not the other way around Swoops. Perhaps he's finally lost patience with him and realised he's just not worth the effort.

Just a shame that it's taken so long for a "top manager" to find out what I was saying two years ago.

Wanker

Which one? they both are.
Even if it that way round it doesnt look as though balotelli looks very worried

He's never going to look worried is he? For a start, he's too fucking stupid to know what's going on around him and there's also the fact that, whatever happens next, the absolute worst thing that can happen is that one day he'll wake up and find he's a millionaire who nobody wants to sign.

Well, when you put it like that :unsure Theres a strong rumour that hes trying to engineer a move to Villa :lookaround

You might have at least used a smiley to share mine & Colbro's feelings :frown

Your acidic posts were much funnier when they were mingled in as minorities with your gambling ones, RC. For our sakes we need to petition the Spanish government :unsure

Happy New Year to you too.

You might have at least used a smiley to share (spare, surely? :thinking), etc. etc.

He's lost his sense of humour, ODM. They've taken his gambling away, it was the route to his heart :lookaround

You know I love you really Swoop :inlove

Not like ODM, he's got it in for me you know, always jinxing my bets, the bastard :lookaround

England U21 star Michael Johnson accepted a severance package from his £40,000-a-week contract just before Christmas having not played for City for over three years.
The 24-year-old - who once attracted a £10m bid from Liverpool, and who was tipped to become one of the best midfielders in the country - had signed a five-year contract worth £2 million a year in 2009, and was still 18 months away from the end of that deal.
It seemed a good piece of business at the time for City, but a combination of injury problems and his reported love of nights out on the town caused his career to stall. Johnson had not appeared for City's first team since a League Cup match against Scunthorpe in October 2009 - a match in which he actually scored five minutes after being subbed on.
City manager Roberto Mancini came to the conclusion that he did not have the right personality for professional football, and sent him out on a season-long loan to Leicester City (managed by former City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson) in 2011. But the temporary move proved ill-fated as he was sent back to City injured half-way through the year having appeared just nine times.
City had planned to keep the news of his termination under wraps, but confirmed that they had paid him off after a picture of Johnson emerged on Twitter looking more like a professional wrestler than a professional footballer.
He was convicted of two drink-driving offences last year, one of which involved him crashing his car in Manchester last May.

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been banned from driving for six months after ignoring police letters about speeding offences because he did not understand the word 'constabulary'.

The Manchester Evening News reported on Wednesday that the Argentine international had pleaded guilty to three offences, including driving without a valid UK licence, at a magistrates court hearing.

The player's lawyer told magistrates that Tevez, who has played in the Premier League for seven years, had not responded to the letters because he had not understood them.

"He does understand the word 'police', but not more complicated words. The letters are written from Cheshire Constabulary and the word police doesn't appear on it anywhere," PA news quotes solicitor Gwyn Lewis as saying.

"The word constabulary is not one that is recognised internationally, but of course police is."

Tevez, 28, had driven with an Argentine licence and his lawyer said the striker, who was not present in court, would take a UK driving test once the ban had expired.

The newspaper said Tevez's Hummer was caught on camera exceeding the speed limit in March and May last year.

He denied being at the wheel on those occasions but was stopped by police while driving his Porsche Panamera last November without a valid licence.

Tevez was also ordered to pay fines and costs of £1,540.

More ' why give a fcuk when I'm on over 200k a week' I'd say.

Since Tevez arrived at City I've never seen him drive yet as he's always had a driver but I suppose late on at night when a bit peckish he's taken a chance and nippped out to the chippy only to be collared.

I was more perturbed today my the Michael Johnson story tell the truth. What a talent he was until he tore his cruciate ligament, one of the best young talents I ever saw, I just hope somehow he manages to sort his life out now City have let him go.

I don't think I've ever read such a total load of bollocks in my live (SteveUK excluded).

Man City are not good enough because Ya Ya is too good:lol

WHAT?

Yaya Touré is widely regarded to be one of the best midfielders on the planet. The Manchester City No42 can do it all: protect his defence, drive mercilessly at the opposition, he can even be the energetic box-to-box player.
And while many might consider this uniqueness and versatility a huge asset, Zonal Marking editorMichael Cox actually believes it’s the prime reason why Man City don’t have a truly world-class midfield.
After all, what sort of player can operate alongside such a strong all-rounder? Most midfield partnerships are made of a creative player and an enforcer. Yet Touré can, and does, do both.
Ultimately, you end up with a player such as Gareth Barry: a decent passer and someone who can be relied on to offer a defensive presence. But is a midfield containing Barry going to trouble Europe’s best? Not likely.

You, Sir, are a cunt.:hatsoff
