5.20 Wetherby - Findthetime 9/2 (365)

Well given Nicky Richards rich vein of form at the moment it immediatley caught my eye that he has sent just this one to Wetherby today. Over the past month the trainer has racked up a very tasty looking 47.1% strike rate , and he's three from three when sending his horses here this season (100%) so the fact that he sends just this one to the meeting kinda stands out for me. The horse comes into this on the back of a 255 day lay off but looking at the trainers current form i'll assume that he has his horses ready to roll. When last seen FINDTHETIME won over todays CD , beating No Word Of A Lie by 6 1/2 lengths in a class 2 handicap (making it 2-2 in handicaps). That was his third win on the bounce and he'll be looking to continue that winning streak and making it a four timer .. and though there is opposition that i'm worried about i think he has he best form on offer in the race and can hopefully make a winning seasonal debut. Sean Quinlan gets the ride for the first time and he has a 12% strike rate over the past three weeks and when he's teamed up with the trainer over the same period the pair come away with a 50% strike rate (2,1,6,1) . Not a shoo in by any means , but to me , everything looks right for a decent run and i'll be surprised if he doesnt go close.

OK mate. Thanks for the interest anyway . i’ve lost interest in the gee gees just lately.

Quiet month for this hopefully have had a few that caught my eye but not decent enough prices (or whatever) for me to take an interest , might be one or two for tomorrow , go through em later

Tuesday 15th November

6.15 Newcastle - Pockley 4/1 (365)
To be honest i was in two minds whether to have a go at POCKLEY , i wanted a bit more price wise , but eventually decided that 4/1 aint too bad all things considered. Usually runs a sound race here at Newcastle with two wins and three places from 6 runs at the course (only time he was unplaced was at a mile). and comes into this on the back of two decent efforts at the course with a third on his penultimate run and a second last time out (beaten a nose). Hopefully he can go one better this evening. Horse has won off as high as 75 but runs off 65 which i see as a big plus given that he seems to be in fine form at the moment. The only thing nagging at me is the fact that he hasnt won at the distance in two attempts , hasnt even placed , but im hoping that running at a track he seems to do well at will help his cause and eek out a little more along with the first time blinkers that the trainer has reached for. Trainer sends just this one to the meeting , and the fact that she sends just this one across the border caught my eye. Jockey Mark Winn also goes for just this one , and he has two places from two rides aboard the horse , both here - last two runs , and his 5lb claim can only help matters i think. Should be in the mix , and hopefully can finish with his head in front.

7.45 Newcastle - Spartan Fighter 33/1 (365) - Athollblair Boy 16/1 (Lads)
I know , I know i should leave the amateur races alone , how often have i said that ?!! And no doubt i shall be cursing them afterwards as i'm looking at another one lol. I quite fancied a few of these if i'm honest but at the prices i couldnt help but have an interest in the two i've named. First one is SPARTAN FIGHTER , whose currently a standout 33s with 365 , 20-25s elsewhere generally. Doesnt come into this in the best of form admittedly but has won 5 times over CD , and placed once , from 14 runs (and won 6 and placed in 3 from 21 runs at the course overall) so knows his way round here. Jockey claims an invaluable 7lb which should help the cause , although to be honest i dont know too much about the jockey to be honest. Trainer Anthony Brittain has been hitting form lately with a strike rate of 25% in the past fortnight. Would definatley have to improve on recent showings , but doesnt look badly drawn and at the price i thought he was worth a go as a shot to nothing at a decent price. The other one i like is ATHOLLBLAIR BOY , who like Spartan Fighter , has been a winner here at Newcastle multiple times (ran 29 times over CD winning 4 and placing in 9 .. ran 42 times overall at the course winning 6 and placing in a further 14) and a decent run wouldnt come as the biggest surprise as he was a solid enough looking fourth here last time and the fact that he's being ridden by a claimer shouldnt matter as looking through his races i notice that hes usually ridden by claimers. Another one i couldnt leave at the price on offer. Fingers crossed !

I backed Spartan Fighter last night but can’t remember exactly why. I know it used to be in my tracker at one stage.

I’ll get in the other two now.

Cheers Sean, got a treble up, by adding one of my tracker horses (Jet Plane), missed out on a huge pay out when another tracker horse got beat the proverbial mile at 50's. Stuck Macho Pride in the 7.45 for the forecast / tricast, so got the forecast up. In a perfect world Spartan Fighter would have flown from nowhere to complete the tricast, but that was probably asking too much.

Might be summat for Friday , not sure yet , have to go through them later and see what the prices are like , if theres anything i like it'll be posted around 6ish

Friday 18th November

8.15 Kempton - Magicinthemaking 12/1 (365)
To be honest others probably come into the race with better looking chances but i cant help liking the chances of joint top weight MAGICINTHEMAKING who can usually be relied on to run a decent race round here , has two wins and two places from his 9 runs here over todays CD and overall at the course he's run 21 times winning three of them and placing in a further nine. Ran a rare stinker here last time out , if he can put that bad run behind him and resume normal service i think he's gotta good chance here this evening. As i've already said his CD / C form stands out for me as well as the fact that all his wins at Kempton have come off todays mark or higher. Draw doesnt look too bad and the fact that trainer John Long sends just this one out today could indicate a decent run is on the cards. Rhys Clutterbuck is in the plate for the first time and he has a 12% strike rate at Kempton this season along with a healthy looking profit of +24.40. If putting that bad run behind him I think Magicinthemaking can make his presence felt at what i think is a decent price.
