4.05 Bangor - Getaweapon 11/1 (365) - Hiconic 20/1 (365,Hills)
Fancy the chances of a pair in this class 4 handicap , first one is GETAWEAPON who i had pencilled in asa bet if around 7-8/1 so the 11/1 on offer definatley pleased me ! Makes her seasonal re appearance today so has to be taken on trust that shes ready to roll but she did well enoughlast term with 3 places from her 4 starts so could go well fresh. Kim Baileys a trainer i rate and been in decent form of late , 27% SR over the past 3 weeks , and he sends just this one to the meeting which caught my eye especially as he seems to do well with his runners here , 19% strike rate over the past 5 years. Jockey Kai Lenihan gets the leg up for the first time and he helps to ease the burden by taking off a valuable 10lb. He and the trainer have teamed up once in the past month resulting in a winner. If ready to go i can see her being on the premises come the line at what i'd consider a decent price. The other one i like is more hopeful but i do like her chances , HICONIC , who hasnt been seen in her best light (either over jumps or on the flat) since 2020 when she ran up a four timer. Probably wishful thinking but if she managed to show some of that earlier ability then i think she'd definatley be in with a shout. Never been tried over this trip before so im hoping that could pull out some improvement , and she's one from one at the course. Alex Hales sends just this one out to the course and has a 17% strike rate when running them here. And JJ Burke gets the ride , he can usually be relied on to do his job and he has a 30% strike rate over the past three weeks. Im hoping that she can dig deep and find a bit of her old form at decent odds.

7.30 Newcastle - Broctune Red 14/1 (365)
BROCTUNE RED catches my eye in this , and though his last couple of runs have been pretty poor he was on the premises in his previous 4 runs to those. Ran a stinker over CD last time out but usually seems to do well here , running 22 times over todays CD , resulting in 6 wins and 6 places. Looking at the race a few come into this with more pressing claims to be honest but im hoping that Broctune Reds CD experience will aid his cause and he looks fairly well drawn to me which can only help. I think its interesting that Aiden Brooks is re united with the horse this evening , last time he rode him he won over CD , and he seems to get on with the horse having won on him once and placed twice from his four rides. Trainer sends just this out today and has a 15% strike rate when running them here. To me the price looks to be too big not to have a go.
