BRANDY STATION comes into this on the back of a lto win at Southwell , beating Koropick by 3/4 length , so the 14/1 on offer looked quite generous to me. Doesnt seem to run on turf alot these days being more of an all weather horse but has a place from his one run here at Nottingham and the fact that that he's won from a higher mark than todays caught my eye. Trainer sends a couple to the meeting but this one stands out for me , and shes got a 17% strike rate over the past three weeks. And regular pilot Zak Wheatley is in the plate , knows the horse well having ridden him 24 times , winning 4 times and placing 5. Has a 13% strike rate in the past 21 days and when he and the trainer have teamed up in the past three weeks they have a 50% strike rate. Bit of a risk admittedly but at the price one i'm prepared to take.

4.57 Kempton - Brunel Charm 14/1 (Generally) - Under The Twilight 7/1 (Lads,Coral,BFred)
Like the look of a couple in this , first up is joint top weight BRUNEL CHARM who werent at his best when last seen at Chelmsford but before that had been running quite well with form figures in his previous 4 runs - 2,1,2,4. Horse has only won once from 10 attempts here at Kempton but has placed 6 times , over CD hes run 6 times resulting in 5 places. And to my way of thinking he seems to like it round here and hes gotta get his head in front sooner or later (obviously sooner would be better ... like today !) Richard Hughes sends just this one to the meeting and hes been amongst the winners in the past fortnight with a 17% strike rate, and has a 10% strike rate at the course overall. Jockey Deon Le Roux goes for the one ride and has a win and a place from his 4 rides aboard the horse. Cant say i know alot about him to be honest but i'll trust the trainers judgement. At the current price im willing to take a chance that he goes well and can go close. The other one i like is UNDER THE TWILIGHT , who has a win and a place from her two runs over todays CD and at the distance shes never been unplaced , 2 wins / 2 places from her 4 runs so im thinking that this return to 7f will suit. Tom Wards sends just this one to Kempton and hes a trainer i like , has an 11% strike rate in the past 3 weeks , and has a 13.5% strike rate at the course this season , along with a small profit of +£2.50. Callum Hutchinson gets the ride for the first time and though he hasnt been in the best of form lately he can boot one home when he wants so happy enough to have him onside. As i said i think the return to 7f will help her cause and i can see her being in the mix come the line.

ROUND THE ISLAND won this race back in 2020 and im hoping that he can repeat the feat here today in what looks an open affair. He definatley knows his way round Ponte having won 7 times and placing in 4 from 24 runs over todays CD. Was a poor 10th of 11 last time over todays CD but before that had been holding his own since coming back from a break - 4,1,4 .. Im hoping that better can be expected today, especially with the fact that he looks to be well drawn and has the assistance of claimer Mark Winn , whose one from one aboard the horse , and has been amongst the winners of late with a 14% strike rate over the past 3 weeks , and has a respectable 20% strike rate at the course this season and the fact he comes here for this one ride didnt go un noticed. Hoping for a good run for my money at decent odds.

6.30 Wolverhampton - Giewont 14/1 (Hills,Lads,Coral,BFred)
I like the look of GIEWONT in this , although a few look to have chances imho , and at the price certainly looked worth a punt. Having his first run for Roger Teal after leaving Darryl Hollands' yard . is one from one over CD , only CD winner in the race which immediatley caught my eye i have to say , and whilst this may very well be a fact finding mission for the trainer i dont think he'd be running him if he didnt think he'd have a shout, He's had him a while and i dare say he knows fairly well what to expect and hes a trainer i respect. Was 5th at Lingfield when last seen 67 days ago and his conquerer that day was the re opposing Buckshaw Village but i think he can turn that form around here today. Trainer has a 15% strike rate over the past 3 weeks , and has an 11.5% strike rate at the course this season. Frederick Larsson has been amongst the winners of late , 14% SR over the past 2 weeks , and gets the foot up on the horse for the first time. When the pair have teamed up over the past three weeks they have a 25% SR. At the 14s on offer worth a nibble i think.

I like the look of a couple in this race , the first of those is PEACHEY CARNEHAN , whose been holding his form pretty well all season in my opinion , in the frame more often than not and is one from one over todays CD. Was a decent fourth last time out and on his penultimate run won by a nose from Fact Or Fable . Gets in here off 52 and has won off higher in the past so on that basis alone i think he stands a chance , looks to me to have a decent draw and i honestly cant see why he shouldnt run his race and go close here today. Trainer has a 25% strike rate here (since 2010) and sends two runners to the meeting today , both in this race (his other runner is Dodgy Bob who i wouldnt wholly discount tbh) . Jockey Phil Dennis knows the horse well and comes here for just this one ride , seems to ride Yarmouth well , has a 33% strike rate in the last 5 years and a profit of +£5.00. Hoping he can go close here at what i'd consider a decent price. The other one I'm looking at is ALAFDHAL who has won off this mark in the past , doesnt come into this in the best of form admittedly and his form is a tad patchy but theres bits and bobs you can pick out which would give him a chance in this , won over CD back in June of this year off the same mark as todays and i think he can go well. Frederick Larsson in the saddle and he has a win and a place form his three rides on the horse and has been riding okay lately with a 14% strike rate over the past fortnight. If running at his best i can see him making his presence felt.
