So no singoff, just a vote. How odd...it's anyones guess as to who will win. I really doubt casual viewers care much, in which case it's likely to be down to the most fervent friends and family.

Should be Amelia but I'll give it a swerve given she is heavy fav already. Outright market is intriguing now tho...

A bit late but today's Bettingzone Market News:

2020: Amelia Lily has been installed as a 6/1 shot to win the X Factor after it was announced that the four acts axed by their own mentors in this series' first live weekend have been given a lifeline to return to the show in the wake of Frankie Cocozza being dropped.

Amelia, James Michael, 2 Shoes and Jonjo Kerr each have a chance to rejoin the contest alongside the remaining six finalists on Saturday.

Wayward Cocozza was kicked out of the show yesterday after apparently boasting about drugs, which programme bosses said broke the rules.

Viewers will now be given their say on which of the four acts, who all exited without facing a public vote, will re-enter the competition, with details of the vote due to be announced tomorrow.

The successful act that returns to the show on Saturday night will perform either a song by Queen or Lady Gaga, but will have had a shorter time to rehearse than the other acts taking part.

James Michael is 66/1 to win the series while Jonjo and 2 Shoes can be backed at 100/1.

The favourite remains Marcus Collins at 3/1 while Janet Devlin is 7/2 with Craig Colton (4/1), Misha B (6/1), Little Mix (8/1) and Kitty Brucknell 66/1) the other contenders.

Zone comment: Summary: Four people who it was decided BY THEIR OWN MENTORS weren't good enough to win now get to prove they are good enough to win. Carry on

lots of theories being bandied about - this what i think...

this was never planned by syco. there was no way they could have known what would happen with frankie.
this measure is a sticking plaster, not an attempt to 'jump the shark'.
it has been very badly thought out and is likely to do mare damage than good. a return of johnny would have given more credibility as the public would have seen that as fairer. also he'd be no threat to the eventual winner - just a way of ensuring a 3 act final.
amelia lily will win the public vote.
none of this is a gamechanger as far as the main contenders are concerned. amelia lily will be voted off at the first opportunity as the producers will see any other result as even more damaging.
 
Tomorrow night looks a bit trappy at the moment, song spoilers pre show might give a few hints as to who might be in danger.

Amelia likely to win the vote, likely to get the pimp slot, likely to have her well rehearsed "You and I" ready, likely to get a massive ramp from the judges, likely to comfortably avoid the bottom two for this weekend.
 
I'd usually put the odds up but I've no idea what's happening this weekend for TXF. Someone gets voted back in AND there's also an elimination!? :thinking

not sure the public will like this twist. brits have a keen sense of fairness.

kelly was quoted in the press today - words to the effect 'i've been polishing misha's performance and i heard janet earlier and it was fantastic' i think that really means 'i've been spending all my time with misha because janet won't let me anywhere near her!'

Some more strange choices in there and overall a pretty disappointing mix. Another shocking choice for Marcus, there almost zero vocal ability required for that one, and no chance to throw in a game changing vocal.

Devlin could come up with anything with that, Craig's choice is another setup for allowing him little chance to steal the show.

Watch out for Misha tho!

 
I would suggest Craig is quite vulnerable with that song.

It was an obvious choice for Misha B
