X FACTOR Betting

I've covered James Michael @ 1000 just in case. Numbers already seemed a little bit low (I dont understand why they wouldnt want a 4 person final), and eliminations are the lifeblood of the show at this stage - so some sort of replacement is certainly possible.

The 4 that were cut by the judges would seem the likeliest candidates (with James most likely given that he is the same category?) Of course Amelia would have the greatest winning potential out of those 4, but her odds are already quite low.

Just heard about that on 5Live. I reckon he's been caught snorting something.

They can't bring The Risk back, as they were the act with the least votes. They can only reverse Johnny's exit on paper.

All that is presuming it's not just a short term publicity stunt, with Frankie reinstated later this week once they have generated enough headlines...

The story is meant to be in tomorrow's Sun, so it could be any number of things:

Flashing out of the X-Factor house window.
Smuggling girl fans into the house.
Use of drugs as prevoiusly suggested.

Quoting his official statement:
I'd like to apologise to Gary, my fellow contestants and everyone who has voted for me, but, as of today (TUES), I will no longer be in The X Factor."
Cocozza.jpg

"My life during the show has gone out of control and my behaviour off stage has over-stepped the rules of the competition. I no longer deserve my place in the show, so I am therefore leaving.
"I would like to thank everyone who has supported me."
An X Factor spokesperson said: "Frankie is leaving the show today after breaking competition rules. He is going to take some time out before continuing his career as a singer. We wish him all the best for his future."

I was actually going to post this week to be careful of Frankie in the elim market because there was a reasonable chance he was going to walk out. On his VT on Saturday he said the line "Im not prepared to stay here just to be laughed at" or something similar, which would tally with stories last week that he was trying to get himself thrown out. The statement certainly reads like it's some kind of mutual decision.

Hmmm. Amelia Lily back in the competition!? Her odds are plunging on Betfair: http://twitpic.com/7c45ba

Ladbrokes apparently are offering odds on who will replace Frankie: Johnny Robinson 6/4, The Risk 2/1, Amelia Lily 4/1, 16/1 Sophie Habibis and 5/1 for any other contestant.

The show can make up whatever rules it likes, of course, but given the current ratings/public perception it does need to be careful how it treats this.

The least controversial idea would be to have no replacement, as it wouldn't be entirely fair to have someone enter now when there are only 6 others left. That would leave a bit of a headache over how to fill the remaining 6 weeks with just 6 contestants.

Favouring one single person would give the impression of too much meddling by producers, and degrade the contest further as a result. The only exception would be the reinstatement of the most recently removed contestant (Johnny) with the slightly stretched narrative that Frankie's rule break occurred prior to the weekend etc and that he cost Johnny his place in the final 7. Bearing in mind the show was keen to get rid of Johnny, it's very unlikely.

Beyond that, some kind of public vote to determine the replacement might be a more likely scenario...that way they could spin the story that the replacement has done something to earn their place in the final seven.

It would be just as controversial to reintroduce any act that was rightly voted out by the voting public. Johnny can be the only act that has a right to return. The only way they can reintroduce a previous act is by a vote. If Amelia, Sophie or The Risk were brought back, it would upset the producer's strategy, as there were strong reasons as to why each of those acts left in the first place.

If the X-Factor want to play with a straight bat, it can only be Johnny.

They could of course just have two in the final and not bring anyone back.

Can see Charlie lead singer of "The Risk" coming back as a solo singer

Not sure they'd get away with that topdog. One of the Ofcom complains is surrounds the handling of an 'on air' competition. I doubt they could just invent a new act this far into the competition, regardless of whether he was a good soloist at boot-camp.

X-Factor have to be extremely careful how this handled to avoid greater derision from an already hacked off public.

IF there going ot bring someone in as a replacement it has to be someone for Gary's section a boy as he has lost one you cant bring others in so all talks of anyone else barr a boy is total wank end of

I got it right.

Sky just confirmed that Frankie was axed over drug use.

Digital Spy are suggesting it was Cocaine.

Gavster thats been known all day and past few days he had taken drugs :lol

Looks like it is a public vote between the 4 that were punted!

That gives me 3 days to work out what to do with a 30k green on James Michael! :/

Me too, just laid it at 8s, never thought I'd see that cash again.

Amelia is certainly the most talented, but the more important issue is who the producers want. It will be very easily manipulated given the low/non existent fan bases involved.
