X FACTOR Betting

This week's updated odds:

Winning Act:

Janet Devlin 11/4 (Betfred/Boylesports/Coral/Sportingbet/totesport)
The Risk 5/1 (Betfred/totesport)
Craig Colton 5/1 (Betfred/Sky Bet/totesport)
Marcus Collins 6/1 (general)
Misha Bryan 15/2 (Coral/Ladbrokes/Sportingbet)
Little Mix 12/1 (general)
Johnny Robinson 22/1 (Paddy Power/Sportingbet)
Kitty Brucknell 40/1 (Paddy Power)
Frankie Cocozza 100/1 (Bet365/Paddy Power)

Janet Devlin increases in favouritism but it's still fairly open at this stage. Marcus Collins is being backed ever so slightly. Can Misha Bryan break the hoodoo that no act who's been in the bottom two has ever won?

Eighth Elimination Odds: (from Sky Bet)

Frankie Cocozza 5/4
Kitty Brucknell 5/2
Little Mix 10/1
Johnny Robinson 12/1
Marcus Collins 12/1
Misha Bryan 14/1
Craig Colton 16/1
The Risk 16/1
Janet Devlin 40/1

I assume it's 'next act announced as eliminated' which is rife to being manipulated.

To be eliminated:

Frankie Cocozza 2/5 (Blue SQ/Sportingbet)
Kitty Brucknell 8/13 (Sportngbet)
Misha Bryan 5/1(Blue SQ?Sportingbet)
Johnny Robinson 11/2 (Blue SQ/Sportingbet)
Little Mix 5/1 (Blue SQ)
Marcus Collins 7/1 (Blue SQ)
Craig Colton 9/1 (Blue SQ/Sportingbet)
The Risk 10/1 (Sportingbet)
Janet Devlin 16/1 (Blue SQ/Sportingbet)

Some slight moves for Kitty Brucknell and Johnny Robinson/The Risk/Craig Colton.

Judges swapping acts to mentor!? I've no idea what's happening but if this rumour is true then it's a possible headache for the bookies.

http://uk.omg.yahoo.com/news/x-factor-shake-judges-swapping-categories-072522017.html

I'll put up the updated and double elimination odds later. I'll probably just put graphics from Bet365 because the total number of possible combinations is just a bit too arduous to input by hand.

As I said in a previous post, this show is spiraling from one crisis to another and is having to continually reinvent itself by introducing ever more dramatic weekly surprises. I mentioned that these reality shows eventually become parodies of themselves.

Big Brother went down the same route; introducing double evictions, more extreme personalities and tasks, in addition to reintroducing previously evicted house mates.

Most Haunted also had to refresh their format throughout their later series' and persisted in being more extreme in their hunt for ghosts, which ultimately lost them their respect and credibility.

Back to X-Factor, if the basic format of the show isn't enough to maintain what was a huge audience share, then surely ITV/Syco need to open their collective eyes to identify the fundamental issues facing the show's future success. It's tired and the audience is bored of the year on year predictable format. Ok, this year seems to be different, but we can still predict outcomes. What is frustrating with this show, is that it has become more about the judges than the contestants. Statements are contrived and rehearsed - the whole show lacks integrity. Once BBC's 'The Voice' comes along, we may witness a major shift in power.

My two to go are Johnny and Frankie.

My bottom three are Johnny, Frankie and Janet.

Janet is borderline after forgetting the words in what was a lackluster performance way out of her comfort zone. She could easily be replaced by Craig, but I'm fairly certain of my bottom two.

yes, i'm agreeing mostly with gav. deffo frankie and johnny (is that a song?) bottom 2, but i think janet's regional vote may keep her safe, despite the the awful performance. kitty was not as good this week and her bad week in the press may see her in the bottom 3.

generally it looks like the show is favouring craig, marcus and littlemix. can't say that janet is plan A now with that awful song choice and death slot - her confidence is shot and she doesn't look like she wants to be there! but the whole thing seems to be out of control so who knows what is going to happen next?

After yesterday's performances, the only words to describe the odds movement are 'total carnage'.

Winning Act:

Marcus Collins 3/1 (general)
Janet Devlin 4/1 (general)
Craig Colton 9/2 (Betfred/Boylesports/Coral//totesport)
The Risk 13/2 (Coral)
Misha Bryan 13/2 (Sportingbet)
Little Mix 10/1 (general)
Johnny Robinson 50/1 (Bet365)
Kitty Brucknell 50/1 (general)
Frankie Cocozza 125/1 (Ladbrokes)

Marcus Collins, Craig Colton, Misha Bryan and um, Little Mix are being backed.

Eighth Elimination Odds:

Frankie Cocozza 'evens' (Bet365/Betfred)
Kitty Brucknell 3/1 (Bet365/Blue SQ/Boylesports)
Johnny Robinson 6/1 (Stan James)
Janet Devlin 20/1 (Blue SQ/Boylesports)
The Risk 40/1 (Betfred)
Little Mix 40/1 (Betfred)
Misha Bryan 50/1 (Coral)
Craig Colton 66/1 (general)
Marcus Collins 125/1 (Bet365)

Who will have the lowest votes? Lord knows. Janet Devlin is being backed though along with the three ahead of her, Frankie, Kitty and Johnny.

To be eliminated:

Frankie Cocozza 2/9 (Sky Bet)
Kitty Brucknell 'evens' (Sky Bet/Sportingbet)
Johnny Robinson 5/4 (Blue SQ/Sportingbet/William Hill)
The Risk 10/1 (Bet365)
Janet Devlin 11/1 (Sportingbet)
Little Mix 16/1 (Bet365)
Misha Bryan 20/1 (Bet365)
Craig Colton 25/1 (Bet365)
Marcus Collins 33/1 (Bet365)

To be in the bottom three: (from Bet365)

Frankie Cocozza 2/9
Kitty Brucknell 4/9
Johnny Robinson 8/15
The Risk 11/4
Janet Devlin 10/3
Craig Colton 4/1
Little Mix 5/1
Misha Bryan 15/2
Marcus Collins 16/1

How will the producers play this? Frankie plus Kitty or Johnny? Who of the supposed 'safe' acts might get a shock instead?

It's time for Gary to lose an act so bye, bye Frankie. I don't think it's going to be so obvious that it'll be both Frankie and Kitty gone but who knows? I will laugh if it's Kitty and Johnny but not Frankie who goes as Louis will have no acts if that happens. It'd be absolutely apt for being such an awful mentor.

Unless they've changed it between last night and the start of tonight's show, it's still two eliminations tonight.

Havnt watched as i was busy out at the fireworks ive gone for 3 bets so far

Little Mix to go tonight 5pts @ 16/1 skybet
Kitty next one out 10pts @ 3/1 bet365
Little Mix bottom 3 10pts @ 9/2 Bwin

bwin had the crazy price of 3.0 for johnny to be eliminated! i'm sticking with my prediction of franke & johnny, although sofabet are convinced that it will be kitty. the only way i can think it will be kitty is if frankie somehow avoids the bottom place and is put through in the sing off.

i'm not buying that janet is in danger yet as her regional vote should pull her through. interesting that the risk have come into contention though. for me their performance was poor and bland and no level of judge pimping will convince me otherwise - the bookies seem to agree. good news for my match bet in the groups.

Didn't see that coming. :eek

But it all makes sense...

Little Mix are the preferred group. The producers will have noticed that The Risk will have been performing badly in the vote share over the last few weeks. Not wanting to make the show seem fixed by making the judges to decide, why not create a double elimination week where the act with the least votes would automatically go?

Producers get their wish? I reckon that was their plan.

The Risk had less votes than Johnny AND Kitty though!? A load of bollocks surely?

I wasn't paying any attention to any potential odds movements since 4:30pm. I wonder if anybody backed The Risk at 40/1 to go out first tonight though?

EDIT: Johnny out. Kitty survives.

i always felt their support was poor, mainly because of derry, which is why i had little mix as top group @4.0. i didn't have the balls to back them to go tonight though.

good night tonight as i also had johnny to be eliminated @3.0

Well played again Rob!

I don't think the signs are good for little mix, the continual late slots can only mean they are struggling badly too, preferred or not.

Marcus ticking along nicely :)

yes marcus coming up on the rails. i've been gradually taking some cover on him to protect my profits.

i think littlemix can survive a while longer. i think frankie and kitty must be ahead of them to go and with some dodgy goings on they could reach the final. i think the producers would like them to make it as they will be nicely marketable and that will give the extra boost. to do this i think misha and craig (possibly janet) are expendable.

Agreed on that, I think they'll push on in the market a little, as the show will continue to give them both barrels. As long as they can get them to the final, then they can launch them as a successful act (a la jls and OD.) The win would be a nice, but I think extremely unlikely bonus.

To get them there I think we might see a couple more acts 'thrown under the xf bus'. Time to work out who... ;)

Fuck off Seen

Absolute bollocks of the show tonight, no way at all Risk or even Johnny should of gone cant wait to cheer on Frankie now
